We celebrate Holy Communion every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. Sunday School for children as Children's Church following the Children's Sermon Sunday School for Youth and Adults follows immediately after Worship Confirmation Classes for all youth ages 11 and up every Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Nativity Lutheran Church is a Mission Congregation of the ELCA serving the people of Barrow County since Advent 2006. We offer traditional Lutheran worship with a Contemporary twist, using the new ELW worship resource - for worship that is lively, interesting and spiritually uplifting. We have fellowship after worship every Sunday and enjoy meeting new people. COME and SEE!
We believe that being a Christian calls for leading a life of discipleship: weekly worship, daily prayer, service to the community and the world, faithful stewardship of time and gifts and regular Bible study. Being part of the Body of Christ calls for a relational and spiritually grounded life. The fellowship of believers is strengthened in faith through regular and faithful worship.
We chose Bethlehem to worship and locate our church home because it is a rapidly growing and developing area between Athens, Winder, Loganville and Lawrenceville. We are located ~ 1 mile south of 316 on Highway 11 (Christmas Ave. in Bethlehem) between Winder and Monroe. We are just 1/10 mile south of the caution light in the center of Bethlehem. Pastor Hanberry has 50 years of experience in the Ordained Ministry of the Lutheran Church and just celebrated the 50th Anniversary of his Ordination on June 1 with family and friends at Nativity. He has developed four Mission Congregations. He is graduate of Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, SC. He brings a wealth of experience and wisdom to the leadership of Nativity. He and his wife Jan live in the area. They have grown children and grandchildren.

Pastor Patti Axel graduated from the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in May and was Ordained and Called to be Pastor Developer on July 6th. Patti feels a deep call to Mission Development and looks forward to many years serving God's people as a Pastor. As well as being active in the Lutheran church she has been a pediatric nurse for 26 years and just retired from Children's Healthcare of Atlanta this Spring. She and her husband Jeff live in the Decatur area and have two grown children.
