The glove is coming along nicely but nothing that you'd care to see. Maybe I can do some finishing this weekend. It'd be nice to knock out both outstanding projects but that sounds like too much to take on --- although, it is supposed to rain all weekend...

Got my bloodwork done this morning. While I was busy doing the fasting and waking this morning, it dawned on me that if I lost weight and quit smoking, I could get off these stupid meds. How simple is that solution? Sounds way too easy but possible. Tuesday I hit the dentist and Wednesday the follow-up for the bloodwork. Man - great reasons to get outta work, huh? I wish it was for some beach fun instead.

Yesterday I did quite a bit of spindling. I'm not any better but I did a lot. My arm hurts now. I hope I get better at it soon because at this point it is not relaxing, it is frustrating. Once I get done with the little bit I have left to work on, I get to figure out how to make 2-ply. We'll see how that goes.

Wednesday is dear Aunt Ruthy's 60th birthday! I love you, Aunt Ruthy. May you have a healthy 60 more full of fun and lots of green cash. I have so many wonderful memories of time spent with this wonderful woman. There aren't many women out there as good as her ---- I've been truly blessed in my life to have her in it.

Have you requested your free credit reports yet? . I did and I got a fee erroneous things removed. Quit procrastinating and get it done.

You're probably less Irish than you think you are... But you're still more Irish than most.

Now, don't faint but I picked up the poor sock and got back on track with it. I set it down for too long and promptly forgot what I was doing and where I was at with it. I tried twice to pick it back up and never could figure out the method to my previous madness. Last night I ripped out several times and then said F it (forget it) and just started plugging away at the pattern. Like it matters if a sock is in perfect patterness. I'm gonna knock out this second sock and be done with it. Like I've stated before, I really don't care for sock making. I'm not saying that I won't do more but I know that it won't be the thing that I make the most of. I guess I'll be making a crapload of sock yarn gloves or mittens since I have quite a nice stash of sock yarn. Speaking of gloves, I'm rolling down the 5" to the thumb gusset on glove #2. This, too, shall soon be an FO. The plan is to start on the entrelac bag. This is giving me an incentive to finish off these two on the needles.

I guess I'll get to work --- nice, smooth week with all the kids and faculty gone from the U. We do have a program going on which disturbs my peace but I'm happy with the limited amount of stress.

I worked on DD's scarf on the way down there and home. No, I don't have much to show for the 9 hour round trip but is more than I woulda had if I'd been at work. This morning I worked a little on glove #2. I also finished another audio book and am half-way through another. The commuter from hell is knocking out her reading list. Some of the narrator's voices on the tapes are enough to drive me over the edge. Plus, my tendency to correct their pronunciation doesn't help. I keep saying, "It is fill-ayed....not fill-ited." Is this said differently around the country and I'm just ignorant of that fact? Could be. I know that there is no way that I'm as smart as I think I am. Mama taught self-love and I took it to the extreme.

Today, DXH & I ordered DS's invitations. Each step seems like I'm being taken to death row. I guess because he's my baby. I see the excitement in his eyes of all life has to offer. I hear in his voice the anticipation of his future. I really do like that he has done as he is supposed to: grow and learn, become a responsible young adult. BUT, this is my youngest and he is passing from his Mama's arms out into the cruel world. And he's not afraid. DD continues to cling to my apron strings begging me to reassure her and make all the impossibilities go away. I continue to gently push her to do for herself. DS forges blindly ahead and only stops to ask for assistance when it is something he cannot do alone. I guess it is all of these things: DD's reliance, DS's independent nature and the fact that both of my children are now adults. Such is life but I fail to recognize the lady looking back at me in the mirror. I wish she'd give me back my babies - even if she has to continue looking as she does. Bittersweet. It is like GB tells me when I tell him I don't want him to grow any more - "But Granny, everyone wants to grow up and become an adult." I guess so and out of the mouths of babes.

DD and I hit the 1/2 price book store yesterday and they were having a 20% off everything sale. Oh, okay - sure I can find something. Here is what I came home with:

Hand Knits for the Home This book is from England and you can't find it anywhere on the web for less than $35. I got it for $7.98 - 20% + 8.25% tax. How is that for a perfectionist?

In the Kitchen with Bob Yeah, this one is not worth much but one I've wanted since I used to watch QVC like I had an addiction. Get this, I loved that they'd talk to me and that they were in Pennsylvania. Yeah, bring on the white coat.

I am about 1/2 way on the first half of Mr. Bear. He's moving along nicely and I'm making him out of some cotton yarn from the stash. We'll see if Mr. Bear turns out okay ---- you never know until you're finished.

Oh Seester --- my bra replacement purchases weren't as bad as you imagined. Grand Total: $158.33, Savings of $182.59. That includes 2 shirts and pair of shorts for GB + two sexy gowns for me. I bought 3 bras at $17.09/ea, one at $16.99, 2 @ $12.74, camisole @ $8.99 --- I don't think that is any worse than WM and I'm getting quality that need only be replaced once a year.
