About Our Chapter
Thank you for visiting our chapter Web site.

Our chapter is one of nearly 1,400 nationwide chartered local units of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans that brings Thrivent Financial for Lutherans members together for charitable, social and educational activities. Chapters are organized geographically, primarily by county. All Thrivent Financial for Lutherans members belong to a chapter in the area in which they live, which enables them to aid themselves and others through voluntary action.

The Grant County chapter is part of the Southwest Wisconsin Region. Within the Southwest Wisconsin region there are 26 chapters and 455 Lutheran congregations.

Each chapter has a leadership board made up of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans members who are elected and/or appointed. The chapter leadership board is responsible for allocating funds to service teams for helping individuals and community organizations.

For questions about our chapter or to get involved in our volunteer activities, contact a chapter leader by clicking "Chapter Leaders for 2007" below.

Grant County is located in the southwest corner of Wisconsin. The city of Lancaster is the county seat. Recreational opportunities abound in Grant County's two state parks: Nelson Dewey State Park and Wyalusing State Park. A drive along Wisconsin's Great River Road provides breathtaking views of the Mississippi.

Historic attractions in Grant County include: Stonefield Village, Cassville; Dickeyville Grotto, Dickeyville; Fennimore Doll & Toy Museum and the Fennimore Railroad Museum, Fennimore; Mitchell-Roundtree Stone Cottage, Platteville; Mining Museum and Rollo Jamison Museum, Platteville; St. John Mine, Potosi; and Sinsinawa Mound, Sinsinawa.

The county is also home to two outstanding higher education institutions: Southwest Technical College located in Fennimore and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
