Please, Folks, we need help!

Our snow removal team consists of just a very few people. If you are willing and able, we need YOU to help us with this job. Most often folks just show up when needed, but to make sure snow is removed before Sunday services & any scheduled event, we would like to have a list of people willing to help. Young folk would be most welcome. This is a great family project as well! Please call the office @ 772-3144 to put your name on the list.

Sharing/Caring News

Sharing/Caring holds its regular meetings on Thursday evenings at 7:00 at the home of Lois DeBoer, corner of Excel & 8th. Sharing/Caring welcomes anyone in need of a "safe & confidential" place to share one's joys/burdens of life. FMI call Lois at 772-4590.

Have You Seen This Book?

We are trying to locate the book "Apaurak in Alaska" by Tollef Larson Brevig & Joseph Walter Johnshoy. This book was loaned to Pastor Al soon after his arrival in Petersburg and has "gone missing". If you borrowed this book from either Pastor Al or our church library, or if you know of its whereabouts, please contact either the church office @ 772-3144 or Pam Jensen @ 772-4635.

4th, 5th, & 6th Grade Youth Group News

All 4th-6th graders are invited to join us as we enjoy fun activities on Thursday evenings from 6:00-7:00 pm. Our next meeting will be at the HCH on Jan 29. Join us as we make boxes to send to our overseas military friends. FMI call Craig & Ginger Evens @ 772-4392.

7th & 8th Grade Youth Group News

The 7th & 8th grade Youth Group will hold our next meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 6:30-7:30 in the HCH. We will have dinner & a Rock Band Contest! All 7th & 8th graders are encouraged to join us for fun & fellowship. FMI please contact Tanya Somerville @ 772-4557.

Secretarial Help

The church office is looking for someone to be available during times when our secretary is unable to be in the office. If you are interested in learning some of the jobs of the secretary in order to be available in times of need, please call the office @ 772-3144.

Preschool Teacher Search

We are in need of a teacher for the Preschool Sunday School class. This is the class that includes children ages 2 & 3. If you would like to be a teacher for these little ones, or FMI, call the church office at 772-3144.

PLU Scholarships

Central Lutheran Church in Anchorage offers a few scholarships to those attending PLU--one for musicians from Alaska and one for involved ELCA youth of Alaska. FMI & application forms contact Central Lutheran's church office at (907)277-1622 or go to the following website:

Building Use Information

We receive numerous requests from various groups wishing to use our facilities for meetings. If you are planning a meeting or an activity to be held in any of our facilities, please call the office @ 772-3144 to be sure the room you would like to use is available on the date you wish to hold your function.

Do You Have a Key?

If you have a church key that you are no longer using, please return it to the church office. We have several members who need keys to the church in order to do their work. Please check your key rings! Thanks!

Congratulations New Council Members

We have 4 newly elected Council members! They are: Desi Burrell, Jim Martinsen, Terri Swanson, Sandy Wolf & Larry Peterson. Our new Council President is Dave Riemer, and our new Vice President is Sharla Coon. Congratulations to all of you in your new positions within our Church Council!! Council members who are continuing their work are: Lila Trask, Sheri Wikan, Bev Siercks, John Swanson & Heidi Lyons. We wish God's blessings upon all of you as you do the church's work.
