Take a trip and change lives!

It has been years since Hurricanes Rita and Katrina ravaged the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and thousands of families still live in unsafe temporary housing. You can join with other Thrivent Financial members, Lutherans and volunteers to help change lives. Sign up now for a one-week volunteer work trip to the Mississippi Gulf Coast through the Thrivent Builds Worldwide Gulf Coast Community program. This is your chance to work side-by-side with other Lutherans to help a partner family in need of simple, decent, affordable housing. Not only will you help build one family’s home, you’ll be part of an experience to rebuild an entire community.On behalf of its members, in 2008 Thrivent Financial for Lutherans committed $2.5 million to Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast to build up to 40 homes - nearly all in one community - and contribute to the affiliate's ability to serve more families. In 2009, Thrivent Financial started building a new Community in Gulfport, Mississippi, where it committed an additional $1.7 million. Thrivent Builds Worldwide teams will continue to help build this community in 2010. Trip costs effective for trips beginning Jan. 1, 2010: Members of Thrivent Financial:  $175 plus travel.
