v5.6 Released. This release has upgraded our message board system as well as fixed a variety of other issues.
The message boards within individual Web sites have been redesigned.
On postings that contain a Web Link, if you do not insert "http://" or "mailto:" for web or E-mail addresses, the system will automatically add this in so the links will still work properly.
If you use expansion link postings, you now have the option within Edit Page to view what the page will look like in both Expanded and Contracted Views.
"List Freeform Files" has been added under "Web Site Feature Management" on the Web Site Manager screen. This will allow you to view your uploaded files without having to go into Freeform administration or FTP. You can also view the system URL of the files in case you would like to use them within postings that utilize HTML.
Clicking Show/Hide Shortcuts now keeps you on the same page instead of redirecting to that site's home page.
Last Updated date display postings will now show when any posting within the page was updated, instead of displaying when the date on the "last updated posting" was updated.
The Participate button will now display within Edit Page so Site Administrators may see how it will look when visitors view the page.
On a page with multiple screens (a page that has more postings than the amount allowed per page), after editing or adding a new posting, the following page will stay on the screen you were on instead of redirecting back to the first screen within that page.
Chat Transcript and Active Chat display postings now properly display the date if a layout was chosen that includes a date display. Text has been tweaked as well.
The way the time is displayed within a site calendar has been modified. When both "No specific start time" and "No specific end time" are checked, the system will display the time as "all day". When "No specific start time" is checked and "No specific end time" is not checked, no time will be displayed.
Otherwise, the calendar will display the start time.
Intro text has been updated to the Manage Administrative Roles page within Web Site Manager.
A link to our FTP FAQ has been added to the bottom of the Freeform Administration page.
The top-navigation within the Calendar now has a Done button, which will take you to the previous page you were on.
Note added to postings that contain a horizontal rule. We recommend using pixels instead of percentages for displaying horizontal rules, as percentages will only stretch to the horizontal length of the largest content item within that same posting.
E-mail addresses entered within Manage Web Site Information should now accept all addresses with valid top-level domains (ex: .com, .net, .org, etc), including all country domains.
The Manage my Profile and Web Site Manager screens have had some minor wording and link updates.
Removed the option for column display formatting within text postings. This feature previously only worked within Netscape browsers.
A link to the Lutherans Online Clip Art Corner has been added to "Edit Posting" pages.

v5.5 Released. This release has upgraded features for our Chapter Mailings system, as well as CPS Web publishing enhancements, which are as follows:
Aliases for secondary pages are now available! Example: If you would like to advertise your site calendar as http://www.lutheransonline.com/mysite/calendar, login to your site as an administrator, then click "Web Site Manager," "Manage Web Site Pages," then "Edit" under the page for which you would like to create the alias. Type in an alias at the bottom of the screen, then click "Done." You can do this for any page within your site, including publishing, Freeform, calendar, online forms and top frame pages. Your alias can be any one word without spaces or punctuation, but you cannot have duplicate alias names within the same site.
The option to remove page links on top of online form and top frame pages has been added.
A "Most Recently Created" site listing option has been added to the Site Directory.
A Web Site Logo resizing bug has been fixed, and we have also added a "Done" button to complement the already-existing "Save" button.

Several new features have been added to Lutherans Online!
We have added the option to set the background color within pages. To change this, go into Web Site Manager, then "Manage Web Site Pages," then "Edit." Change the background color, then click "Done."
Message boards/chats can now be made public/private. Private message boards and chat rooms are only available to participants on a Web site, while public message boards and chat rooms are available to any logged-in Lutherans Online user. To change this, go into Web Site Manager, then "Manage/Configure Message Boards (or Chat Rooms)". Click "Edit," then choose public or private under "Access." All message boards and chat rooms are private by default.
Sort order for participants is now available. To update the sort order, click "Edit Page", then under your participants posting, click "Format Participants List." Click "Display what participant info?", then choose any "Sort by" checkbox to sort the data by that type. Choosing two or more options will sort by the topmost option, followed by any others below that.
Login redirect page problem on private/inactive pages has been fixed. If you clicked on a private page without having logged in, it would redirect the user after the login screen back to the site's home page. Now, it will redirect users after having logged in to the page they were originally trying to access, and not the site's home page.
Mini-calendar postings will now display dates from Monday-Sunday instead of Sunday-Saturday. This should be especially useful for church sites' weekly calendar postings so users can see events for the following Sunday.
Freeform preview page now has the same layout as the live site. Previously this only showed the content without the LO surrounding template, which would occasionally display differently compared to what would show on the live site.
Delete Web site archive has been added - once a user deletes a site, they have up to 14 days to call the Help Desk in case they would need the site back for any reason.
A calendar display bug for "Monthly weeks (Pick Days)" events is fixed.
Chapter Web site aliases that contained periods have had the periods removed. |
