| | | Additional Family Information | | Researching the surname of Kwirandt by all its many variations, i.e. Kwiram, Kwirant, Quiram, Queram, Quirant, Quirandt, Quirin, Quiring, etc. The name originates in Prussia around 1700. There is a town called Chwiram or Quiram shown on some maps near Deutsch Krone. The main town of my ancestors is Schonlanke, Prussia (now Trzcianka, Poland). Neighboring towns where Kwirandt/Quiram relatives lived include Neudorf and Harmelsdorf. The original name of the family was Quiram, but because of turmoil and wars in Eastern Europe, some family members fled to Russia, to East and West Germany, and others to Canada and the U.S. Any information appreciated. |
