Q: What ad categories do you offer?

A: The Lutherans Online Classifieds section has many different ad categories: vehicles, real estate, furniture/appliances, vacation/tickets, animals, musical instruments/electronics, fitness equipment/sporting goods, bicycles/toys, outdoor recreational vehicles (boats, campers, etc.), and other/miscellaneous. These are also separated into two groups: wanted to buy and wanted to sell.

Q: How do I search for an ad?

A:

1. Go to the Classifieds page.
2. Click on "Search Ads."
3. Click the checkbox next to each subcategory you would like to search. You may also choose a date range and state (optional).
4. Click "Submit" to perform your search.
5. Find an ad that interests you, then click "View Details" to read the entire ad.

Q: What is the difference between "Wanted to Buy" and "Wanted to Sell?"

A: "Wanted to Buy" listings are for people that are in the market looking to purchase certain items.

"Wanted to Sell" listings are for people who have items for sale and are looking for a buyer.

Q: How do I reply to an ad?

A:

1. Go to the Classifieds section.
2. Choose a category from the home page, or search for an ad.
3. When you locate an ad you are interested in, click "View Details" to read more.
4. Once on the details page, you can reply to the ad by clicking "Click Here to Reply to Ad."
5. Login with your username and password. Register here if you are not yet registered.
6. Enter your email address and message text.
7. To help prevent against spammers from using our system, retype the 6-digit validation number exactly as it appears in the box provided.
8. Click "Send."

Q: How do I post an ad?

A:

1. Go to any page within Lutherans Online and click "Login" in the left-navigation area.
2. Login, then go to the Classifieds page.
3. Click on "Post Your Ad."
4. Choose a subcategory, fill in your contact, and type in a description of your ad.
5. Under "Run ad for," choose if you would like your ad on our site for 14, 30, 60 or 90 days. You can always edit your ad and extend it if you need to at a later time.
6. If you have more information available on a website, enter a link title and web address (URL). Otherwise you can leave these two fields blank.
7. Click "Post Ad" to finish your ad, or click "Classifieds Home Page" to return to the home page without posting your ad.

Q: How long do ads stay on the site?

A: When you create a new ad, you have the option to run your ad for either 14, 30, 60 or 90 days. They are automatically removed from view once expired, so you do not need to delete it. If you need to, you can delete your ad.

If you would like to extend your ad, click "Edit Your Ad", select your ad, then under "Your ad expires in," select the number of days you would like to have your ad run.

Q: Can I put an image within my ad?

A: You cannot place an image directly within your classified ad. However, if you have an image hosted on a website, you can use the link feature at the bottom of the Post Ad page to create a link to your image. You can also build a free website here on Lutherans Online.

Q: How do I edit my ad?

A:

1. Go to any page within Lutherans Online and click Log In in the left navigation area.
2. Log in, then go to the Classifieds page.
3. Click Edit Your Ad.
4. Click on the ad you would like to edit.
5. Modify the ad information and click Submit to update the ad.

Q: How do I delete my ad if I no longer need it?

A:

1. Go to any page within Lutherans Online and click Log In.
2. Log in and go to the Classifieds page.
3. Click on Delete Your Ad.
4. Click the checkbox next to each ad you would like removed. To review an ad, click the subject link to the right.
5. Click Delete to remove the selected ads, or click Classifieds Home to return to the home page without deleting any of your ads.

Q: What information should I include in my ad?

A: You should include all pertinent information about the item(s) you are looking to buy or sell, along with some way for another user to contact you. You can also place a link to another website if you have more information about your item(s) hosted elsewhere. Remember that all information you enter in your ad is public except for your email address, which is hidden behind our contact form. Read our Guidelines for more information.
