The funniest part is the beginning but without the show we wouldn't have a great CD by Chris Doughtrey.

Actually, that's the part I think is not worth watching.

But I wonder how many people who responded that it is a total waste of time have ever actually watched it. Some of the best new singers have come from that program. One is currently on Broadway and another just won a Golden Globe award for her part in Dream Girls. The finalists are very talented people and it's fun to see how much they improve over the season.
