tvs

I have a TV, but don't have cable. Nor do I have an antenna on the TV so I get diddly-squat for channels. I only use it to watch movies and that is seldom. So, although I own one TV, I could conceivably do without it altogether.

Television

I answered four, but now I realize we have five, we are not really TV people, only a few years ago we had one in the house. My children are now adults so each has one in their bedroom, maybe used an hour a day while going to sleep. The fifth one is in our family room. A boyfriend moved out of his apartment and is staying with a friend now. We are "babysitting" his TV and livingroom furniture until he finds another place. We do use the items at times, but this is better than making him pay for a storage unit...so yes, I have 5 TV's in my home, but I would guess the average actual TV viewing time in 10 to 12 hours per week for each person.

Number of TV's you own

I would assume that the American person now has made a "lifestyle" of watching TV every day like eating or sleeping. The time used I think I read recently was an average of 44 hrs per week for children. I wonder, if we went back to doing things as in years past like - more outside activities with children or adults, we would have or would develop more appreciation of the nature we see and smell, we would have more peace in our lives, lead more active lives for our health, add more beauty to our lives and find contentment within ourselves to be happy for each day without a TV or spending money to entertain ourselves. TV isn't wrong and neither is spending money on entertainment but something has been left out of our daily lives to fulfill the richness of what you can have without watching TV, using electronics or spending money on things or people to entertain you. On another note, the amount of TV's per household amazes me that we have that abundance - maybe sharing more material things with others would be in that arena also then???
This is from a person who owns only 1 small color TV but doesn't miss out on the things that money can't buy or that watching TV will never allow you to enjoy in life. That's my two cents worth :))
