Joe, that speech in Berlin was a nice speech, but President Regan did not got that wall down all by that one sentence. The German people worked very hard and very dilegent to get that wall down. His speech helped in the end, but their effort and money, (my money too ) brought East and West together. If the Americans wanted to be helpful, they would tore the wall down when it went up in 1961. Who was President than?

In the age of TV and highlights and soundbytes, it's probably totally unfair of us to love Reagan more than the others. But The Great Communicator he was, and maybe it was his acting we wanted and needed to believe in the midst of a Cold War. "Mr. Gorbechev, tear down this wall!"

Just for the record, as of this moment, there have been 15 votes and none have been posted for either Bush - yikes!

Also as of this moment, Reagan has 60% of the votes. Just curious - I thought I would post this to see if the ratios change when more votes have been submitted.
