Reading through the Bible
Good for both of you. The first time I read through the Bible it was
with the aid of a very good daily Bible study called Daily Walk. I
believe it was put out by the Navigators. While not Lutheran, this
study opened my eyes to so many things in the Bible that I did not
understand previously. That, and a simple, understandable translation,
are my recommendations for anyone wanting to really get into the Bible
for the first time.
One thing about regular Bible study, to me it's like potato chips. The
more I indulge, the more I want.

Bible reading
I have not read through the bible, but I am doing more bible reading
than I have in the past due to being a Sunday School teacher.

Reading thru the Bible
I've never read straight thru the Bible. I've read thru the Gospels and
Acts, and I'm currently reading thru the Epistles.
I've concentrated, in the Old Testament, on the Psalms, which always
bring peace to me; however on my own I am hitting other books in the Old
Testament.
At my church we have Bible studies which touch on some Old Testament
books, so I am becoming familiar with those at church.
I'm a cradle Lutheran, but I'm still a baby when it comes to church
attendance, so I guess I am making up for lost time.
