Strawberry Shortcake

I have to admit...I may ask for separate dishes for the cake, the strawberries and the topping. OK...sometimes I will put the topping on the berries.

If the cake is too spongy, I can't stand ruining the taste of the strawberries with a texture of mushy cake.

In Baden-Baden, Germany, we went to a Bavarian restaurant and ordered apple strudel. I didn't realize that it would arrive with ice cream *on top* of the strudel! I did manage to choke it down, though.

Call me *odd* if you will. :-) Please don't call me OCD.

food

When I was a kid snd stayed with My aunt Edna. We had to eat X number of bites then take X number of sips of milk or water. She and cousin Janice counted each sip and bite.

Eating "around" the plate

I usually eat each item on my plate separately. I like to completely savor the taste of each dish before moving on to the next.

For example, if I have a big breakfast, I'll eat the sausage first, then the bacon, then the eggs, and then the toast. I just feel I get more intense flavor from each, rather than mixing them up.

I believe this comes, in part, from having studied formal French cuisine, where each dish is served in turn in multiple courses, rather than all at once.

Of course, my friends say I eat like a Klingon... :->

Savoring the Delectables

Sure, I have taste buds! And, its the variety of flavors and textures that I appreciate. They complement each other.

That's why I'll have a bite or two of this, a bite or two of that, and a bite or two of the other. The only thing that gets mixed up is the last few bites on the plate. But, no.... I don't eat one thing until completion, and then go to another item. That kinda sounds a bit OCD to me.

ROTFL!!!!

I -so- needed a good laugh! Thanks, Thrivent! :)
Yep, I mush all my food together, except for the dessert. And lots of times I'll take the mixed-up food and put it on bread and eat it as a sandwich!
LOL...Sorry, I'll have to end this comment...I'm having too much fun! :)

Every thing we eat, has to go some where. The final meeting place is the stomach.

It is a funny topic, any way you see it, but I like it. Nothing much to think about. And like KK said:Who cares? "

Hve a blessed tomorrow,

Same Stomach??

I eat my food one item at a time. Also, the comment, "It all goes to the same place anyway" doesnt make much sense to me. How many of us have taste buds in our stomachs?

Have a blessed week!

Funny question , but cute. You guys must have a good week beginning. Good for you :) :) :) I mix the food up, because it gets in the same stomach.

Have a blessed week.
