What were the 1800's really like

I think people forget just how terrible the 1800's actually were:

High infant mortality

Poor Health Conditions

An American Cival War the likes of which we would not want to go through again--and similar wars in Europe.

Primitive technologies (electricity was not until the turn of the century--even later in most rural communities.

Poor communications--the telephone was not until the turn of the century either.

On the other hand, it is very hard to predict the future. With the price of oil going through the roof, I cannot imagine what that will mean for the future.

In the end, I will leave it all in God's hands.

Which century?

I said the 1800's. there is so much evil in this world now, I cannot imagine what it will be like in the next century. Come, Lord Jesus.

Then and Now and Tomorrow

I would have preferred having the choice to say that I am glad to live now at the time that God chose. I would've also enjoyed the 1800s -- the discussions of theology were much better at that time. We have become so incredibly SHALLOW! I think I would even enjoy living in the next century -- the medical technology might be fun to play with.

Its about Time

I like the dresses, too, Troudy.

Trouble is, none would fit.

Maybe in the 22 century suits like the Jetsons will be in use, and fitting would be easier?

I voted 1800 century, because I like the dresses.:)

But you should had one more question.

How about the present?

Have a blessed day

When to live?

I chose the 1800's because I can't keep up with the technology now...what will it be in another 100 years!? Of course, I'd sure miss indoor plumbing!
