One Person, One Vote..but....
One needs to remember that, technically, the people do not elect the
President of the United States -- the States do. Each State is given
representation equivalent to its representation in Congress (i.e., 2
Senators plus as many Representatives as allocated). In additional,
Washington, DC receives as many votes as the least populous state.
Without a major overhaul of the Constitution, this won't change.
Personally, I believe that every State should change the way they assign
the Eletoral Votes to eliminate the "winner take all" approach. This
would make a big difference in States like Ohio (where I live), which is
really neither red nor blue, but purple :)
However, what the individual parties do at their conventions (in terms
of choosing candidates) is not governed by the US Constitution, so this
poll is really about how each State's party officials handle the
selection of party delegates, and has very little to do with the actual
election.
