Coupons

I've been known to save 54% of a $100 grocery order by using coupons and doubles, combined with the ad placed by the store. Between Albertson's honoring other stores' coupons, browsing the markdown bakery and grocery bins, and buying meat either on sale or from the "green meat bin", I do OK. Of course, I was a grocer for 15 years. Grosser than many, some would say.

Coupons

I've found that many of the products that provide advertising coupons are actually more expensive than our store brands, even after the coupon has been doubled. Typically, I only use coupons for the brands I buy anyway, but there aren't a lot of name brands I use.

Dan,

Your second attempt was an improvement, but still it shouts that, "you evidently had plenty of beer in college!"

I never use coupons but I should Start. Think of the money I could save. Like BenFranklin said a penny saved is a penny earned. IF I would used coupons in college I could of taken all the money I saved and bought more beer.

You guys who do NOT use coupons are missing out on a good thing. We save ours arranged alphabetically in a box and take the box to the store with us. It is especially great when an item is on special sale and then you have a coupon to use for it too. With even multiple coupons for that item, it is "stock-up" time.
