Tax preparation
My taxes are pretty simple, so I don't bother with paying someone to do
them. And I do mine on paper and send it snail mail. If you do your
taxes early enough, you get your refunds really quickly--I sent mine off
Jan. 28, and my state check was at my door a week and a day later, while
my federal check showed up Feb. 23--a little over three weeks later.
Not bad for government work! :)

TAXES
I use H&R Block. They know what they are doing so it is worth the
expense. Last week I got a refund from 2005 I have yet to file for 2007

Preparing income taxes
Tax Act has a very good free program that costs you nothing to download
and use. And it asks many, many questions so it's difficult to make a
mistake. I highly recommend it.

Preparation
It wasn't actually a choice, but I have an accountant who prepares my
taxes. For me, it's worth every penny. I don't have time to keep up
with all the various tax laws, especially when we had rental property.
Recently, I also have my own side business, and having an expert to
handle the tax preparation makes sense, since the fee is a
tax-deductible expense.

taxes
For the majority of people who can read and do simple math, it seems a
waste of money to usse a tax preparer.
