change

LWML gets my change for 45 + years. I was so impressed when I read with how much they started with , 60 years ago, about $2000 budget, and I think they have a $1 1/2 Mill budget now. Shar correct me , if I am mistaken.

They do more good with the pennies , nickels and dimes as any other Church Organisation, regardless what Synod it is.

Keep on collecting, Sisters in LWML. : )

Take care and God's blessings.

Change is Mite Money

LWML does more with Mites than buy christmas presents for people who don't need them. We fund Mission projects, locally, nationaly and internationaly.Pennies, nickles, dimes (my church has a don't spend a dime campaign),quarters and even a few dollar bills.
They add up Mightily!

Change

I rarely have more than $2.00 in coins on me, and I never have more than 4 pennies. I tend to use the little change I have to pay for things when I need to. I keep my change in the coin pouch in my wallet, so too much tends to make the wallet too bulky for my back pocket.

I also enjoy making cashiers think a bit, by handing them $5.13 for a $4.38 purchase (I get 3 quarters back that way). No one seems to be able to make change in their heads anymore...

coins

I keep mine until I am ready to go to the bank. I throw it in the counter machine at the bank (I saw my banks on a news show that tried the counters and it was the only counter system that did not miss a coin or two). That gives me a slip, I go to the teller and deposit the money in a seperate savings account. Let me tell you it adds up fast!

change?

I have one of those nifty little blue "piggy banks" that Thrivent gave away setting on my dryer. I randomly place change into the slots. When they visit, I give the "spend" portion to my grandchildren for whatever they want...and give the them the charity portion to place in the kettles for the Salvation Army, or to buy poppies from the Veterans, or whatever is going on at the time they come. So far the "save" part is just being saved.

Spare change

I keep an LWML mite box in my car and all of the spare change I get when I go through a drive-through goes in the mite box. Surprising how quickly it fills up.

Vacation

We save ours up and use it toward our vacations. So, in a sense it goes to the bank AND is for a "rainy day" although I hope the vacation isn't rainy!

Change

I keep my change roll it up and take it to the Bank. Taking rolled dimed nickels and penies to the bank and comming home with 2 20's and a 10 dollar bill is a real hoot. I was able to do some christmas shopping one year with small change. It all adds up take care of your nickels and the Dolars will take care of themselves the Quaters are used at the car wash or to buy newspapaers
