Easter symbols
I was so moved when I came to Jacksonville five years ago to see that
during Lent, every Christian church erects a six foot cross on their
property which is draped in purple. On Good Friday it is changed to
black and, of course, on Easter morning the cross is resplendant in
white. You have to understand what a impact this has here in the Bible
belt when they are two churches on every major block. It really sends a
powerful message.
Perhaps other areas do this as well, but I had never seen it in South
Florida.

Easter Symbols
To me, the most powerful and inspirational symbol is the Empty Tomb.
While the Cross reminds me of Christ's suffering, the Empty Tomb reminds
me of His victory over death and the grave.
Regarding butterflies - I've not seen that used by the gay community as
much as the rainbow is, but I have seen it used by those who believe in
reincarnation. Also, living in a northern climate, I've never
associated butterflies with Easter - it's WAAAY too cold for them!

Easter
I love seeing the empty cross, all others are good except I do not like
the butterfly for Easter anymore since it is also the symbol for being
gay, that takes away from the Easter message of our Saviour Jesus
Christ.

Symbols
My favorite is the Cross with out the cross there is no Easter. With out
Easter there is no Good Friday no lent. There is no Holden evening hour
of prayer on wednesday night no soup supper. It all began with a Cross
with out that what's there are no other symbols.Wich came first The
Cross or the Easter Bunny? The Cross Did.

Easter symbol
My favorite symbol is the butterfly. Out of the cacoon(the grave)comes
the new life of the butterfly just as Christ had new life from the
cacoon of the grave. Christ has risen and given us new life!
