Time for a Constitutional Convention
That's the beauty of our system of government, isn't it? When enough of
the people realize that there are indeed certain inalienable rights,
they codify it in the constitution.
Once that's done, you'd have no argument, right?
Let's get going on drafting a new amendment!

Health care
I was asked to explain the comment that I made on Mon., so I will. The
10th Amendment states that all powers that aren't reserved for the
federal government, in the Constitution, are reserved for the states or
the people. I read every word of the Constitution, and I didn't see the
words "health" or "medical." Therefore, federal involvement in health
care is unconstitutional.

Universal Health Care
We have it in part of our country. It is the US military. I have a
friend who is an ER doctor hates that system. It is just as expensive,
if not more expensive than the private medicine. It will not work in the
US and will make our health care even worse than it is today.

Health care
I live close to the Border and Have Canadian cutomers who have second
homes in the USA. The majority of the one I have Talked to have some
problems with the qaulity of the care and the time it takes to get a
response. That is just what I hear anyway.
I respect fully disagree that is our Government resposibility to take
care of us. There are certain basic items or services the Goverment
should provide (no time to list now) but I do not feel that universal
health care to all is one of them

I was surprised because when I originally posted, the majority were
opposed to government sponsored health care with just a few supporting
it. That has changed as more people have responded.

Universal Health Care
Phil, Please explain why you think that "Federal government involvement
in health care violates the 10th Amendment". Isn't the primary purpose
of the federal government to protect us? Isn't sickness something to
protect against, especially when there is such profit-mongering and
wasted duplication with the present system.
Shar, how are you surprised?
Dan, your opinion is not supported by testimonials from actual people.
Folks on the boards here have had experience in the land of the North
and it isn't anything at all like what the stockholders in the insurance
companies are telling you. Have you personally spoken to a Cannuck and
found out what they say?

Look at what has happened in Canada with national health care. Most are
not happy with
the system

Government health care
As someone who frequents the message boards, I am really surprised at
the results of this survey.
