Carolyn Ingals would be my choice.

June Cleaver

Sorry, but June Cleaver is totally unrealistic. She's a stay-at-home mom, with two -boys-, doing the housework and the cooking...but she always has on a nice dress, pearls, and dress shoes! And even when we see her in the kitchen checking the roast, she's never sweaty and her hair is always in place. To see that on an evening where she's "doing things ahead" so she can go somewhere nice with Ward is one thing; but every day? No way!
I think a more believable mom from the same time period would be Laura Petrie.

I'm 82 and we grew-up along with our three children, now in their fifties, watching "Leave it to Beaver." June Cleaver should be way out in front of whoever is in second place. Most of your responses are probably from people too young to even know the show.

She was the pastor's wife/mom on 7th Heaven.

Well, I guess this goes to show how little TV I watch, but who is Annie Camden?

Claire on Lost...no other TV Mom gave birth and is raising a baby under such adverse conditions! No diapers, no baby monitor, no automatic swing, and no disigner baby togs.

I'm 41, and my answer was Shirley Partridge. I started watching TV, a lot, when I was five, in 1972, and I usually watched "The Partridge Family." Other good moms are Marion Cunningham and Marge Simpson.

Without a doubt, Edith Bunker.

But, that's because I couldn't remember the name of the mom on the Mickey Mouse Club serials "Spin and Marty" or "The Hardy Boys".

Anyone?

When this poll is over it might give an idea as to the age of those voting! I had to think twice on most of the names except June Cleaver! I am 60+.
