Rebooting computer

We used to turn our computer on and let it run all day, but now we turn it on and off whenever we use it in order to save electricity. We also shut it and all peripherals (fax, printer and computer standby modus) off during the night. Our electricity bill was $150.00 less last year overall. However in USA the savings maybe less since energy costs are not as high as here in Germany.
