On second thought, how could a Nor'wester like me not mention Burgerville USA? They're the only chain I know of who strives to buy local ingredients. Beef from Central Oregon ranches, Tillamook cheddar cheese, potatoes from eastern Oregon, berries, pumpkins and filberts from the Willamette Valley (they make the BEST fresh milkshakes out of all these and more!), and, of course, onions from our friends in Walla Walla.

I clicked Subway, but another one of my favorites is Whataburger. It's based in Texas, but has locations in a few other southern states.

I agree with Phil, I like Sonic best of all. All that was on the list are good, but Sonic beats thema all!

Quizno's won't get my vote because a franchisee treated me wrong, and I have a long memory. So be it.

I enjoy Baja Fresh, but haven't eaten there much.

And, I enjoy Taco Del Mar, for their creative touches.

For the best gut-bombs, though, it's hard to beat Carls Jr. Their $6 burger ($4.50) is wonderful!

I checked Subway, but I have to admit to having an occasional Big Mac attack.

Culvers / A&W

Culvers and A&W are the best out there. Culvers is growing, but A&W is doing OK in central Wisconsin. My town's Dairy Queen went out of business though.

I chose McDonald's, and I wish that more states had Sonic. I went to several of them in Kansas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. Now, but I live in Illinois. I haven't seen Sonic in IL or any state that borders it. Sonic has great burgers, hot dogs, and fries, at great prices. It also has a great selection of drinks and desserts, including soft drinks, malts, shakes, sodas, and floats. In the East, many people call soft drinks sodas, but, at Sonic, they are different.

Our favorite place to eat is Panera's. We like their sandwiches and their seasonal salads are delicious. Unfortunately we do not have a Panera's in our small town so Subway is where we usually eat. Panera's is our special place to go when on vacation.

While I don't eat much fast food, my wife and I prefer Quiznos to any of the choices listed. Hot sandwiches made with good cuts of meat. Yum!

Of course, when I'm visiting my folks in Buffalo, the local chains have the best food...

Favorite Fast Food Eatery

I would choose another but for the fact that McD's has a $1 menu and free small water. I can afford that.
