Love smoke-free

I absolutely love having everything smoke-free. I can not stand the smell of smoke and it makes me feel icky breathing it in. I know people complain about it, but I think that those of us who don't smoke shouldn't have to breathe it in.

Smoking Ban

We heard all the whining and complaints here in Illinois...it's been in effect for several months now and...it's been GREAT! My wife just was up for a conference in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin and went into a restaurant for dinner and the smoke really took her by surprise. She's gotten so used to the smoke free here in Illinois now, that it nearly gagged her. I'm glad Illinois did it, and I think Wisco should next if they want to keep getting our "flatlander" tourist $$$$.

Smoking Ban

It seems that when the choice is given ban smoking or not to ban smoking there are some places of business that are successful as being smoke free and some that are successful for still allowing patrons to smoke- seems like a win-win, but is it? Let's say that patrons at a smoking-allowed restaurant are more generous because they like having a place to go to where their dirty habit is accepted. This could mean that someone who is waiting tables or bar tending to make ends meet is going to have a greater benefit working at the smoke-allowed establishment. A choice, yes, but if it's a matter of providing for your family, is it really a choice? But to get more money, they are putting their health at risk. It's an ethical dilemma. Personally, I support banning smoking in all public areas- not just indoors. There's nothing more disgusting than going to a beach or a park and having to deal with cigarette butts on the ground and the nauseating feeling I get when on a sweet-smelling, clear day, I am confronted with the disgusting stench of smoke.

Smoking Ban

A neighborhood restaurant chose to ban smoking, they lost a few customers, but gained many more. I worked in a place that had to comply with the city's ban, once again we gained business. Our regular smokers continued to come, instead of chain smoking all night, they'd step outside hourly. Even they had to admit it was probably a better thing for them. Once we replaced the carpet, the place never smelt better. The aromas of food is much more apetizing than stale tobacco stench.
We should protect the lungs of cocktail waitresses just the same as the lungs of librarians. P.S. I was a smoker for 7 years, I never expected anyone else to endure the smoke.

Ban on smoking

Florida has a ban on smoking in almost any public area. Although the restaurant owners complained loud and long about this change, it has not hurt business. In fact one local bar and grill tells me that business has improved as people who previously did not enter the bar because of the smell of cigarette smoke are now coming in again. And the waitresses are sure happier.

Smoking ban

I was entering my vehicle at home one day and smelled cigarette smoke. It was my next door neighbor sitting on his porch smoking. Being allergic to smoke that was difficult for me. I need to breath to live; no one needs to smoke to live. Ban it already!
