I truly miss my dogs, but I don't want another.
Right now, the only "pets" I have are dust mites! :-)
I agree with the person who said that "ceramic" pets are the best.

PETS
I love my pets equally; a yellow labrador, three cats, and a parakeet.
Over the years I've also had fish, walking sticks, and an African frog.
Choosing one "best" is impossible for me.

Favorite House Pet
My 10 lb. dog would freeze to death outside here where it has gotten as
low as 60 below. He is in the house as is the cat. They are my only
companions. I would be severely depressed if I did not have them in the
house with me. Not all animals belong outside.

Love pets but NOT IN THE HOUSE. They belong outside. For a pet I prefer
a dog but I also love cats. Grew up on a farm
