tree topper

I went to a church that had the thorn of crowns used on the Lenten cross on top of the Christmas tree. I thought that was very meaningful.

We still have and use the angel from our first Christmas together. That was 40 years ago. Guess the $0.79 cost has been worth it.

What's on top of your Christmas tree?

I am sorry for the loss of your sister. It is obvious that her loss still causes you great pain. Many of us on this message board are involved in community service, not only at Christmas, but throughout the year. But this message board is our means of having conversation with one another. Some of that conversation is serious and some of it is light. What is on top of the Christmas tree would come under the heading of light conversation. I'm sorry if it offended you. I'm certain that was no one's intent.

tree topper

Since my beloved sister committed suicide on Dec. 22 in 1993 (15 yrs ago) our family has not put up a Christmas tree. We do not celebrate Christmas in the usual traditional way by commercial gift giving, etc.;but by doing community service year round in a variety of ways since then. Get real! This is a sinful, struggling, suffering world in which God calls us to ease each other's pain rather than consider what's @ the top of the tree. Remember the tree our Savior was nailed onto! Jesus is the reason....
