Pop vs Soda

When I was a kid back in Iowa, it was always Pop. While my brother was in the Navy in Virginia, he came home and said their it was refered to as Soda. As the years have gone by, always lived the mjority of my time in the mid-west (presently SD), I now refer to it as Soda rather then Pop.
I checked on other because it made no mention of Diet Soda. I like Diet Coke the best. Only when Diet Coke is not available will I pick another Diet Soda.

Pop or soda

I think that, usually, people who live west of the Mississippi River, call it pop, and people, who live east of the Mississippi, call it soda. I found a dictionary that states that the definition of "soda" is "a mixture of a soft drink and ice cream." The last time I drank a soda was about eight years ago, but I drink pop 3-4 times per day.

Pop or soda?

It's soda for us Floridians, too. After I moved here from Michigan, I learned to say soda pretty quickly, as the watresses just looked at you with a puzzled expression if you asked for pop.

POP

It is POP in my book, too. My favorites are Diet Orange Crush, Diet Strawberry and Diet Grape Crush. I can't find anything other than the orange.

Other - Jone's soda (pop to me) or one that uses real sugar. Yes. I do know what "they say" about high fructose corn syrup, and I avoid it. 3F97G

Soda

Where I come from, it's "pop"... a Soda is made with ice cream, syrup and carbonated water, and has whipped cream and a cherry on top.

My favorite carbonated beverage is Birch Beer, which is similar to Root Beer, but sweeter. Our family used to get it in a keg for family reunions.
