MP3

I didn't look closely enough before voting. I voted no, but I used to have one; it broke last month. I subscribe to Rhapsody To Go. For $15.00 a month I could put anything I wanted on it. I think they have up to 300,000 tracks now. You just pay the one fee and you get as much as you want plus streaming to your computer. It was really cool.

I didn't listen to mine through ear phones much. I got an "MP3" transmitter through ebay a couple of years ago from Hong Kong for $9.99. You just put two AAA batteries in it, plug a little wire into the headphone jack and it broadcasts over FM to be picked up over any nearby stereo. I used it all the time in the car.

I also put Issues Etc. on it and would listen at my convenience. I got it at Best Buy for like $30.00; a ton cheaper than an Ipod. It was a Sansa Clip and held 2 gigs of music. I never got it full; that's a lot of space. Regular price is about $10.00 more, but the put it on sale all the time. If your going to get one I recommend it highly as a good deal and Rhapsody is a lot cheaper than buying each song from Itunes.

I tried Napster to go, which is set up like Rhapsody and at about the same price, but couldn't stand it. What's nice about Rhapsody is that they list similar artists and other groups when you go to a groups page. Napster is really bare bones and does not. Since I listen to some pretty esoteric music at times: Scottish, English, and Celtic Folk, Appalachian Folk and a lot of 60's and 70's protest music-find new artist or discovering old ones is really important.

Are you kidding? I went the other way and bought a new turntable so I can listen to my vinyl recordings. (Actually, I also own many of them on CD, too, but found that when they moved some to CD, they left off songs that are on the albums).

I still use eight-track tapes. I'm kidding, but I usually listen to tapes. I have about 150 tapes, 15 CD's, and no MP3 player.

Ipod

I got my ipod as a Christmas gift a year ago and have loved having it! I never thought I would use it as much as I do and it makes my daily walks go much faster.....
