It's A Bargain!

I first got a cell phone in late 2001; in early 2002, we had a massive ice storm which tore down my land line as well as knocking out the electricity, and I was soooo glad I had this fancy gadget so I could call everybody I needed to reach!
Then, I realized that all the features my land line company was charging me for--such as call waiting and caller ID--were already on my cell phone for free, and as long as I didn't go over on my cell plan's minutes (no problem on that), I could call anyone, anytime. So I dropped my land line and now have only a cell phone. I pay less than $60 per month for a basic plan that covers everything I need, and as long as I keep the phone charged, it's all good.
And Nokia phones rock! They're durable and fun, and my last one was an "x-x"...meaning I paid x for it, but got back a rebate for the x I paid! :)

cell phone

Unless you are one of those people who are permanently affixed to a cell phone, the prepaid TracFone is the best deal. For a very casual user, $7.00 a month gives me more time than I ever come close to using. The phone even does a bunch of stuff I don't even care about.
