I couldn't have been more pleased with the questions used to prepare the profile, and the way Lutherans Online handled the initial communications. We just celebrated the 10-month anniversary of my posting a profile and her response two hours later, one of 6 that afternoon. I feel we were brought together in a very nice way. Our immediate families--siblings, children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews were at the wedding, and everything went as planned. We are very happy together, and looking forward to some years of being together. As an older man, I didn't see much point in delaying things, and she agreed. | | | My roommate first met my fiance on the message board from Single Seeking around October of 2006. Around February of 2007 I began emailing him. In April of 2007 we met in person. When talking to each other we found out we lived in the same apartment complex in St. Louis! What a coincidence!!! We saw each other off and on over the next several months and decided we really liked where things were headed. In September of 2007 I invited him and his brother to a Cardinals game with my roommate and I. That became the start of two really special romances between 4 people! In April of 2008 both guys asked us ladies to marry them!! Well, the conclusion of the story will take place in June of 2009 when we get married 13 days apart!!! Donna

| | | In August of 2005, I answered an email that changed my life and it all began because I was bored one day and started a profile on Singles Seeking. JJ emailed and we began to chat online and then by phone at least 2-3 times a day. Finally on Oct. 30, 2005 we met face to face and I knew that I had met the man I would some day marry. I fought the feelings for several months and then JJ did, but eventually, we got our act together and are getting married in June of this year. | | | On September 27, 2006, I got an email that I nearly deleted, thinking it was spam, then realized it was from Thrivent. I had no idea at the time that I had just received an email from the true love of my life! Within days of his emailing me, he deployed to Iraq, and we continued to write each other daily, and talk weekly when he was able to call. We finally met in person when he flew home nearly 10 months later for a 2-week break. By then we knew we were made for each other. He returned to Iraq for the remainder of his deployment; in December he came home to Kansas, and I flew out from New Hampshire. He proposed on January 1st, 2008! We will be getting married April 25, and are both so grateful to God and to Lutherans Online (and of course to his mom, who nagged him into joining, to hear him tell it!) for bringing us to each other from half a world apart. | | | Stephanie and i met on LOL singles in June of 03... 3,000 miles apart we e-mailed and talked by phone for 6 months... made the same dinners on Fridays and got the same movie from the rental place and had a 3000 mile "date" having dinner and a movie "together". She visited NJ- September 11, 2003 she asked me to meet her folks in Calif for Christmas 03... she proposed to me in baggage claim at SFO international... We got married twice, once at the Courthouse in Red Bluff CA in May 04... and at my church (re-affirming our vows) in NJ in August '04. then we moved to Oregon in July 05.. God is sooooo good! Even though he was in Iowa and I was in Indiana--and he's originally from Papua New Guinea--we seemed to connect within a few messages. A couple of months later found me driving 8 hours through the snow to meet face to face, and within another 6 months we were engaged. We were married on February 4, 2006. I found I had a love for her that grew into a curiosity about what might happen were we ever to meet. We wrote back and forth and met at her church in Knoxville several weeks later. About ten months later we were engaged and we just celebrated our third wedding anniversary. We were both from Pennsylvania, but were about 300 miles apart. We met the first time in Scranton for a ballgame. Marty was running for a Sunday School group-a safe first date. Wow! | | | A little over four years ago, three years after a painful divorce, I saw a post from a man who lived in neighboring Missouri. We corresponded and met several months later. It was a perfect match, but locations made ours an internet and once a month weekend romance. Through God's marvelous plan, a job lay off and a new job here in Oklahoma, we had a year to test our feelings surviving a heart attack, broken ribs and another job lay off. In December 2003, we made it official and became engaged with me as the only one employed ; less than a month later he got a great job with the state government. | | | Hi, I met my husband on Lutherans Online, I had just came out of a bad relationship a year before I signed up on Lutherans Online. I had been just surfing the web when I found your ad. I figured why not it can't hurt if anything maybe I'll find a friend. I signed on August 23rd. And on August 28th my husband emailed me back, we talked alot over the next few days. We were about 200 miles apart from each other, I would walk to the library every day after work to write to him and he would write to me from work. It went on like this for about a week or so when he drove down to my house to see me. He came down every weekend from then on. Then in dec. he asked me to marry him, in front of the christmas tree after a candlelit dinner he had prepared. That was two years ago, we were just married on April 9th 2005. And I couldn't be happier I thank God everyday for my husband he is everything I prayed for and so much more. He is the most loving, caring and gentlest person I've ever know. | | | A year ago at the National Youth Gathering I ran into an old girlfriend who had just returned from her honeymoon after meeting her husband on lutheransonline. Well since I had spent soo much money before and some men have been intimidated by my DCE degree, especially in the south, i thought why not try a free service. Well the day I returned from the national youth gathering I signed up July 30, 2004.. got lot of hits.. and Brad was one of them. We would e-mail each other alot and then he came to Georgia for the first time in October in 2004, then again in November. I met his mom New Year's Eve and he met my parents after I had nasal passage surgery. On Ash Wednesday 2005 we talked about getting married and now August 2005 we set our date as April 22, 2006. Bill and I exchanged emails for about 5 months before we met in person. We live on opposite sides of our state-about 165 miles apart. I had to go to his area for a family committment. We met for coffee and really liked each other. We called emailed and arranged to meet about half way from our homes. Finally last spring I invited him to visit me at my home area. We found many things in common-I had grown up on his side of the state. WE went to church together, and one of our most fun dates was in Frankenmuth Mich. | | | Over a year ago, I decided to post my profile on Lutherans Online after prayerfully considering the ramifications of online matchmaking. I didn't like the idea of public matchmaking sites as there seemed to be a greater chance of meeting individuals who don’t have the same values or morals as Lutherans did. I was delighted to discover that Thrivent offered a Singles Service and decided to give their online matchmaking service a try. After several months, I started a correspondence with Gretchen who lived 240 miles away. After writing to each other for several months, I offered to help her move (she was changing apartments in the city she lived in) as that seemed like a casual enough excuse to meet her. We hit it off fabulously, and started a long-distance relationship. I can say that even then we both knew we had found something in each other. She has since moved to my town, and in fact lives 2 lots away from my house. This has allowed us to be more involved with each other on a day-to-day basis. After a few months of having a “normal” relationship and meeting each other’s families, I proposed to her. We just officially confirmed our wedding date last evening with our Pastor; we are to be wed on November 27th, 2004! I am so thankful for Lutherans Online for offering these services which helped bring Gretchen and me together! Circumstantially, Gretchen attended the same college as my brother. Our last names are so close together that they are pictured next to each other in their yearbooks – and yet they didn’t know each other. It seemed, that there were never any eligible single Lutheran men in my age group until March 2003! I read Ed's profile and started our e-mail communication. (I learned later, that he had tried to contact me 2-3 months earlier and didn't get a response; I had been in between computers and had changed my email address.) After writing back and forth for about a month, I invited him to church, and found out that the pastor at my church had been the pastor at his church for about 4 years.
