Northeast Zone President
Jeanne Schimmelmann

The weatherman announced “lake effect snow will begin falling Sunday night and continue right into the first part of the week.”  Not snow – not yet!  A collective groan could be heard throughout the entire viewing area.

Every year the people of Northeast Ohio have to prepare themselves for the inevitable – SNOW.  They have to once again ferret out hats, scarves, and gloves.  They have to excavate through closets to find boots.  They have to search for snow brushes and ice scrappers.  Snow brings visions of shoveling and snow blowing as well as slipping, sliding and skidding.  When the forecast is snow, people often shudder and shriek!

However, snow can also bring to mind a completely different vision – a crystal clear vision of forgiveness and love.  “Come now, and let us reason together saith the Lord:  though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow, though they be red as crimson, they shall be as wool.”  (Isaiah 1:18)  God promises that all our sins will be forgiven and we will be as clean as new fallen snow.  He will make us as pure as untrodden snow.  We will not be that dirty, grimy January snow but rather we will be fresh and beautiful.  Our sins will be washed in the blood of Jesus and God will remember them no more.  While the snowy weather outside may be frightful, the knowledge that we are forgiven children of God is delightful.

May you and your loved ones enjoy a blessed holiday season.   May you give thanks for the bountiful blessings God has given you.  May you joyously celebrate the birth of our Lord.  May the gifts of joy, peace and love fill your hearts.

As you make preparations for the upcoming months, please include LWML in your schedule.  The Prayer Service will be on Saturday, February 7th at Shore Haven Lutheran Church in Euclid.  The Spring Rally will be on Saturday, May 2nd at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Mayfield Heights.  We pray that you will be part of LWML as we SERVE THE LORD WITH GLADNESS in 2009.

Serving God Together,

Jeanne Schimmelmann

A Message from our Zone Counselor

Greetings in the name of Risen and Glorified Savior,

I am surely humbled with the honor of serving as your Zone Counselor. I would ask for your prayers and the blessing of God to give me the strength and wisdom to serve you in this capacity. As a new pastor in The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, yet a lifelong Lutheran, I see every day the blessings that God gives to His people. I will keep all the work that I do for the LWML Northest Zone with my eyes focused on the cross of Jesus Christ, thanking God for the gift of Eternal Life, given to us through the sacrifice of blood by His Son. May God continue to shine His light on all of you.

In His Service
Rev. Donald P. Beaumont

Here's A Good Idea!

A Search Engine that earns money for the LWML!!!!

Instead of ''Googling'' the next time you use a search engine, go to http://www.goodsearch.com and type ''LWML'' and select LWML St. Louis in the ''I'm supporting'' box. Each time a search is initiated, an estimated 1 cent is given to LWML. This sounds like a small amount, but multiple searches by many people add up. For example, if 1,000 women searched twice a day, LWML could potentially receive $7,300 a year.

The ladies who attended the LWML Ohio District Convention June 20-22 had a wonderful uplifting experience. God blessed us with wonderful speakers, great entertainment and the reminder that The Lord is My Strength and My Shield. The Christian fellowship of women serving together in mission was ever-present.
