Dear Sisters in Christ,

It’s over!  All the hustle and bustle, the fuss and the muss is done.  Presents are unwrapped, dinners are cooked, and the decorations are put away.  All the energy and time has been expended on that one day, and now it is OVER!  For many people, all that is left of the Christmas holiday is the post-Christmas let down.  It’s over and all that is left is the feeling of emptiness and sadness.

But for us Christians, Christmas is never over.  Christmas is alive in our hearts every day.  The babe of Bethlehem lives beyond the 24 hours that is called Christmas day.  Christmas fills us with awe, joy and jubilation because we know that Jesus lives and loves us always.  Christmas is not just one day, it is every day for those that believe.  Christmas is found in our hearts, not under a tree.

We invite you to continue the joy of Christmas with your sisters by attending these Northeast Zone Activities in 2009

PRAYER SERVICE – Our Prayer Service will be held on Saturday, February 7th at Shore Haven Lutheran Church, Euclid.  Registration will be from 9:00am – 9:30am.  This year’s theme will be “Look To The Hills.”  Please see the enclosed poster for more details.

RETREAT – The Retreat Committee will be making plans for the Fall Retreat beginning in February.  If you have any suggestions for interest sessions, craft projects or mission projects, please contact me at 440-943-5497 or jjj3shim@sbcglobal.net.  The committee would appreciate any suggestions or ideas.  The Fall Retreat is scheduled for September 25th and 26th at Cedar Hills Conference Center.

SPRING RALLY – the Spring Rally will be held on Saturday, May 2nd at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Mayfield Heights.

NATIONAL CONVENTION – The 2009 LWML National Convention will be held June 25 – June 28 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland.

The LWML Northeast Zone offers each one of us opportunities to join together so we can SERVE THE LORD WITH GLADNESS.

May you be blessed with a happy, healthy new year filled with the love of Christ!

Jeanne

A Message from our Zone Counselor

Greetings in the name of Risen and Glorified Savior,

I am surely humbled with the honor of serving as your Zone Counselor. I would ask for your prayers and the blessing of God to give me the strength and wisdom to serve you in this capacity. As a new pastor in The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, yet a lifelong Lutheran, I see every day the blessings that God gives to His people. I will keep all the work that I do for the LWML Northest Zone with my eyes focused on the cross of Jesus Christ, thanking God for the gift of Eternal Life, given to us through the sacrifice of blood by His Son. May God continue to shine His light on all of you.

In His Service
Rev. Donald P. Beaumont

Here's A Good Idea!

A Search Engine that earns money for the LWML!!!!

Instead of ''Googling'' the next time you use a search engine, go to http://www.goodsearch.com and type ''LWML'' and select LWML St. Louis in the ''I'm supporting'' box. Each time a search is initiated, an estimated 1 cent is given to LWML. This sounds like a small amount, but multiple searches by many people add up. For example, if 1,000 women searched twice a day, LWML could potentially receive $7,300 a year.

The ladies who attended the LWML Ohio District Convention June 20-22 had a wonderful uplifting experience. God blessed us with wonderful speakers, great entertainment and the reminder that The Lord is My Strength and My Shield. The Christian fellowship of women serving together in mission was ever-present.
