Consider some (& use) at least 2 of these

1. Get a live tree, then plant
in your yard in the spring.
2. If you have a cut, live tree,
put it in the yard after Christmas for
the birds – they love the evergreens!!
3. Recycle pine cones – fill them with
peanut butter & put out for the birds
& squirrels.
4. Go with “Green Gifts”. An

5. Buy ‘power free’ gifts.
If you must get a gift that uses power,
either use rechargeable batteries or
make sure the gift is energy efficient.
6. Wrapping –
a. gift bags
b. recycled paper
c. recycle paper when done
d. use comics from newspaper
7. Make a gift!
a. Baked goods – Christmas bread,
cookies, etc.
b. Crochet a hat, a star, a
snowflake, a poinsettia!!
c. Knit a sweater, stockings,
Christmas Tree skirt, afghan!
d. Make Christmas jewelry
for that special someone
e. Make up a pack of gardening
supplies and/or seeds for the gardener
in you life – a 2 for 1 green idea!!
f. Make a gingerbread house &
have for Christmas dinner dessert
g. Make gift paper or cards to give

8. Make your own Christmas supplies:

then use for birds!
f. Bath salts for yourself when done
with Christmas preparations!
9. Recycle Christmas toys:
a. Swap with another family
b. Recycle old toys to needy or

10.Think of people outside your usual
gift list this year. Gifts can be small &/or
homemade - just make sure they’re from the
heart!
a. A little thank you to someone
who has done something to make you smile
b. To the Homeless – ‘new/recycled’
winter coat (Homeless stay in Peace on Mon. nights)
c. To the Hungry – make up a
basket of food for the holidays & drop
off at We Care
d. A little gift to a co-worker who
may be down or lonely this time of year
e. A couple of hours volunteering at
the Peace Shelter, St. Vincent, We Care, etc.
f. A verbal thank you to your Doctor,
your Pastor, your friend, your teacher,
your mom & dad, anyone who makes your
life better!!
