	The Peace Lutheran Church Wednesday Quilters traveled to the Illinois Veterans' Home in La Salle, Illinois to donate quilts to the facility. The home is located on a campus of about four acres. Intermediate & skilled care are provided to our veterans with a total capacity right now of 120 beds. However, a new section will be opening soon to provide care to our veterans suffering with Alzheimers Disease and related dementia. The quilts will be utilized in this new section of the facility when it opens. They were thrilled to receive the quilts to be able to brighten the rooms for our veterans. We meet on Wednesday starting at 9:00 AM in the church basement area. If you can use scissors, tie a knot, sew a seam, or just come to give us support, we would love to have you join us.

New Outreach Opportunity
*Operation Appreciation*
Operation Appreciation is a Peace Outreach Ministry designed to support servicepeople from Peace and also those who have no 'home' congregation. Pre-paid mailing boxes will be filled with necessary items for our servicepeople who are deployed overseas. Our current overseas member is Matt Enger in Kuwait. Please consider donating items for and/or helping with packing boxes for these wonderful people. Bonnie Garling and Judy Stemen are heading this new group.

'Younger' couples and singles with children. This group has get-togethers - like the yearly Superbowl Party!

	*ROMEOS & Juliettes*

	*St. Vincent's Table*
A P.A.D.S. meal project which provides food weekly on Thursdays to feed people in Morris at the Presbyterian Church. Bonnie Garling is the coordinator.

	*Quilting*

This group meets in the Church Fellowship Hall Wednesday mornings at 9 a.m. to sew quilts for homeless, needy, victims of natural disasters, etc. Call Betty Melick for more information - 815-941-4758.

	*Crocheting Lap Robes*
This group crochets lap robes for Hospice, retirement centers & more. (Kinitting allowed!) Call Norma Miller - 815-942-2809 or Gloria Erickson - 815-942-0774.


	*Peace Care for We Care*
Peace supports the Grundy County food pantry, We Care. We collect non-perishable food items on the 3rd Sunday of each month. Donation food basket is in the Gathering Area.

	*Pennies from Peace*
An offering is taken on the 2nd Sunday every month to fight hunger. Pennies CAN make a difference!

	*Praise Singers*
This adult contemporary choir meets on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. Call Ellen Garbrecht for more information - 815-941-2450.

	*Little Blessings*
This is Peace's youth choir. They practice on Wednesdays. Cyndi Jepsen directs this group.

	*The Concert Series*
These concerts are community events! There are 3-4 concerts per year which feature different musical and vocal groups. A $5 donation is appreciated. Following the concert, a dessert and coffee hour is offered where the musicians are available to the public. Mike Kessler is the director of this series.
