THRIVENT BUILDS IN THE NORTHEAST

Fourteen more homes were built in the Northeast Region in 2007!

During a four-year alliance with Habitat for Humanity, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans intends to invest a total of $105 million. Sixty-five percent of each home's cost is donated by Thrivent Financial and 25 percent is being raised by the Habitat for Humanity local affiliate, while 10 percent is raised by the chapter. Are you ready to help recruit volunteers, organize fund-raisers or pound nails? The goal is for 50 percent of the volunteer workers to be Lutheran and for 25 percent to be Thrivent Financial members.

2007 Thrivent Builds Sites

WOMEN UNITE FOR THRIVENT BUILDS
On site in New York City, the women put down their tools to take a well-deserved lunch break on a sunny Saturday.	The women gathered for the briefing on safety and procedures at the build in Suffolk County.
The build sites in both Suffolk County, NY and in New York City were �manned� by enthusiastic women in June 2007. Much work was accomplished and friendships were initiated as they worked to provide homes for two deserving families. The Suffolk County home was one of two in Mastic that was supported by the Suffolk County Chapter. The New York City home was supported by the Kings County, the Queens County, and the Metro NY Chapters.

GROUND-BREAKING AT THE NIAGARA FALLS SITE
Thrivent Financial members and staff pose with the family at the June 2007 ground-breaking.	There is hope that one more family will have a home in a safe neighborhood in Niagara Falls, NY. Ground was broken recently for the Thrivent Builds home that is being supported by the Niagara Falls Chapter.
