Important Year-End Deadlines |
As this year draws to an end, we want to make sure our chapters are poised to make an even greater impact next year. We will try to do that by ensuring that this year’s numbers and information have been submitted to Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Below is a summary of year-end activities that require your attention. If you have questions, you can call the Fraternal Customer Service Center at (800) 236-3736 or fraternal@thrivent.com, visit CHIP (Chapter Information Place) under the Members/Chapters tab on www.thrivent.com or you can email marybeth.trotter@thrivent.com.Nov. 30 - Last day for chapter leader elections. Report results by Dec. 31. Dec. 10 - Deadline to submit your application to be a regional Chapter of Excellence. Download the form under the Chapter of Excellence heading. Dec. 15 - Deadline for chapters to submit contributions to corporate for Hurricane Ike National Chapter Response. Dec. 18 - The last day that new 2008 activity/funding requests can be made for any of the three chapter Care programs. No exceptions can be made. (Update: The "Change Funding Request Amount" link will not be disabled during the blackout period as in previous years. This allows all users continued access to that function during the blackout period.) Dec. 19 to Jan. 7, 2009 - The functionality to enter activity/funding requests online will be shut down. Dec. 31 - The desired last day to report all 2008 chapter activities online. This is the desired deadline because 2008 activities reported after Dec. 31 will not be counted for 2008 totals. Dec. 31 - Report all 2008 operating funds expenses on the Manage Chapter Operating Funds screens by this date. Dec. 31 - Last day for recording 2008 chapter election results. Dec. 31 - Last day 2008 chapter leaders can access the online reporting system (including reporting regular chapter meetings) Dec. 31 - Due date for chapters to submit a new Chapter Depository Authorization (bank signature card) and Security Questions Request form if there are changes to whom should have access to the chapter checking account in 2009. Dec. 31 - Thrivent Builds chapter specialists and/or congregational champions should report all 2008 Thrivent Builds activities by this date.

The Indianapolis Colts All Pro Dad Father & Kids Experience was a great success! This was a unique opportunity to join Tony Dungy on the field at Lucas Oil Stadium and participate in NFL-themed activities. Thrivent Financial was excited to be the presenting sponsor again this year. Thanks to all the volunteers and participants that helped make it such a wonderful event. Here's some highlights: • Event sold out in six minutes once it was opened up to the general public • 600 families attended (more than 1,700 people) making it one of the largest Father & Kids Experience that All Pro Dad has ever hosted • With our early registration, about one third of the families that attended were associated with Thrivent Financial • Priceless memories were made between fathers and their kids • To continue the experience, sign up to join a Dad’s Day Breakfast; to find one near you visit www.allprodad.com.

The 2008 Chapter of Excellence details are listed in the attached tracking file. This form must be submitted to the LCS team by December 10, 2008. We look forward to seeing the ways you multiply the resources you have to provide the greatest impact. If you have questions, email Mary Beth Trotter at marybeth.trotter@thrivent.com. |

| Kids Against Hunger Event |

|
Thrivent Financial hosted a special event in November to feed starving children. Over one hundred Lutherans came together to pack nutritious meals with Kids Against Hunger, a nonprofit organization committed to reducing the number of hungry children worldwide. Over 30,000 meals were packed and over half of those meals went to the Cincinnati Free Store! During 2008, Thrivent Financial for Lutheran chapters throughout the Midwest will pack more than 900,000 meals. For more information on Kids Against Hunger visit www.feedingchildren.org.To discuss hosting an event in your area, contact Larry Moore at larry.moore@thrivent.com.
