Greater Iowa Region Disaster Response Activities
Disaster Response efforts in the past few weeks have included

      • Allamakee Co. Chapter of Thrivent has raised approx. $7000.00 (so far) + $1600.00 in Care in Community funds for Lutheran Disaster relief in Iowa.
      • On June 21 Bruce Maurer and Terry Click travelled to Cedar Rapids on June 21st with baby supplies. Thanks to Jackie and Ted Oster for your help in connecting us with the right resources in Cedar Rapids.
      • $628 in in-kind donations collected during our pre-game festivities at Lutheran Day at the Iowa Cubs. This will go to Lutheran Services in Iowa (LSI) for their Iowa Lutheran Disaster Response affiliate. These funds are specifically for disasters in Iowa.
Disaster Relief via Truck: Destination Cedar Rapids

Disaster Relief Truck Stops in Ames
The Lutheran Community Relations Team rented a commercial truck on Thursday, July 3 to transport supplies to a disaster response center in Cedar Rapids. Several boxes of food, cleaning supplies, water, diapers, etc. were collected from members attending Lutheran Day at the Iowa Cubs. Terry Click volunteered for the all-day road trip.

The truck travelled to Ames where Duane Faas and Lucas Bielfelt organized a stop with donations from members and then went on to Mason City where Jonathan Platt and Jeremy Ames had contacted their members. Final stop of truck was in Williamsburg where Willis Wulf had organized with the people in Iowa County. The supplies were donated to the Salvation Army Disaster Recovery Center in Cedar Rapids.
