IN MEMORY OF...

Marcella K. Siebert, 80, 8985 Hellwarth Road, Celina, died Feb. 13, 2008, at her home.
She was born March 28, 1927, in Mercer County, to Edgar and Cora Hoenie Frahm. On Aug. 21, 1954, she married Lee A. Siebert, who died Oct. 9, 2003.
Surviving are four daughters, Ruth (William) Evers, Coldwater, Pat Siebert and Linda (Ron) Hoying, all of Celina, and Marie (Mike) Rose, Versailles; a sister, Marilyn Frahm, Celina; 12 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Deceased is a brother, John.
She was retired from Hecht Insurance, Celina, and worked as a pollworker for the Mercer County Board of Elections. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Hopewell Township, Celina, where she served as a Sunday school and Bible school teacher and education secretary for WELCA, a women's organization of the church. She was a 1945 graduate of Celina High School.

Former Rockford resident Joy Pierstorff, 82, of Fort Wayne, Ind., died Sept. 21, 2007, at Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis, Ind.
She was born Aug. 14, 1925, in Fort Wayne, to Henry and Grace Jackson Henderson. On Jan. 1, 1944, she married Harold C. Pierstorff, who died May 30, 2006.
Surviving are a daughter, Virginia (James) Westerfield, Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a son, Gary.
She was a homemaker and helped with farming. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Hopewell Church, Celina.
The Rev. Deb Domeier officiated. Burial is at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.

Kermit W. Hoehamer, 76, of Rockford, died Aug. 21, 2007, at Van Wert County Hospital.
He was born Jan. 12, 1931, in Liberty Township, to William and Alice Deitsch Hoehamer. On Oct. 22, 1950, he married Rozella Fegley, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Robert, Rockford; two daughters, Susanne Biberstine, Columbus, and Nancy (Joe) Dwenger, Rockford; a sister, Ann (Dick) Winter, Tomah, Wisc.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He retired as a custodian from Parkway High School after 15 years of service and was a farmer. He was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War and was a member of St. John's Hopewell Lutheran Church, Celina.
The Rev. Deb Domeier officiated. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.

Harold B. "Ben" Bilter, 84, of Celina, died at 1:47 p.m. Aug. 12, 2007, at the Gardens of Celina.
He was born Aug. 22, 1922, in Celina, to Charles B. and Vesta E. Miller Bilter. On Feb. 15, 1948, he married Mary Sites, who survives in Celina.
Also surviving are a son, Charles (Kira), Panama; a daughter, Karen (Dale Gann), Mill A., Wash.; a daughter-in-law, Doris, Oswego, Ill.; and nine grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Bruce; two brothers, Carl and Donald; and two sisters, Naomi Birt and Gladys Sibert.
He retired as a farmer and worked for Central Soya, Decatur, Ind. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as corporal with the 89th Infantry in Europe with Patton's 3rd Army during World War II. He was a 1940 graduate of Celina High School and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Hopewell Township, American Legion Post 210 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5713, all of Celina. He also was a member of the 89th Infantry Division Society and the National Rifle Association.
Rev. Debra Domeier officiating. Burial is at Buck Cemetery, Celina, where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion and VFW, both of Celina.
The American Legion and VFW will be conducted services at the funeral home.

MEMORY OF...

Charles M. Jackson, 79, of Rockford, died July 5, 2007, at his residence. He was born Aug. 25, 1927, in Rockford, to Cecil P. and Ida Ilo Carmen Jackson. On Nov. 16, 1946, he married Constance Ilene Hoenie, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Joe (Jayne), MonMouth Beach, N.J., and Brent (Mandy), Celina; two daughters, Ruth Ann (Dan) Swander and Michelle Ilene, all of Rockford; a brother, Paul (Carol), Gahanna; a sister, Carolyn (Doyt) Crouch, Rockford; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Deceased is a brother, Ted; and a grandchild. He was a personnel manager at Huffy Bicycle Corp., Celina, a machine operator for the Dunbar Furniture Co., Berne, worked at Brandt Dry Cleaners, Rockford, and was a carpenter. A U.S. Navy veteran, he served as mayor of Rockford for four terms and was a village firefighter. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Hopewell Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles Post 1292, Rockford, and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1473, Celina.
The Rev. Deb Domeier officiated at the funeral worship service. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford. Contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or Celina Area Visiting Nurses and Hospice.

Mercer County native and former Celina resident James Dillon Morrow, 82, of Mooresville, N.C., died March 26, 2007, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, Mooresville. He was born Oct. 12, 1924, in Mercer County, to A. Dillon and Bonnie B. Goslee Morrow. On Feb. 8, 1948, he married Eloise Frahm, who died March 16, 2005. Survivors include two sons, Michael J. (Judy), Mooresville, and Thomas A. (Pamela), Garland, Texas; two sisters, Joanne Witges, O'Fallon, Ill., and Winifred Keister, Celina; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Richard A.; a sister-in-law, Joan; and two brothers-in-law, Edward Witges and Kenton Keister.
He retired from Reynolds and Reynolds, Celina, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in Japan. A Celina High School graduate, he attended Ohio State University and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Hopewell Township, American Legion Post 210 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5713, both of Celina, and Scout Master of Troop 200. Burial was at Buck Cemetery, Celina. Contributions can be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, N.Y., or the church.

Former Rockford resident Harold Charles Pierstorff, 82, of Frostproof, Fla., died May 30, 2006, at Winter Haven Hospital, Winter Haven, Florida. He was a patient for two and a half weeks.
He was born on Dec. 2, 1923, in Celina, to Charles S. and Fredricka Frahm Pierstorff. On January 1, 1944, he married Joy Henderson, who survives.

Surviving are one daughter, Virginia (James) Westerfield, Fort Wayne, Ind.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a son, Gary.

He was a retired farmer and a square dance caller for 44 years. He was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Hopewell Church, Celina.

Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Deb Domeier officiating. Burial is at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford.

Helen M. Allmandinger, 74, 1421 Michael Ave., Celina, died at 11:40 p.m. May 20, 2006, at her residence after a brief battle with cancer.

She was born May 6, 1932, in Mercer County, to Russel F. and Doris Hines Howell. On June 1, 1952, she married Karl E. Allmandinger, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Keith (Gayle), Crystal Lake, Ill., and Keven (Arienne), Pickerington; three daughters, Deborah (Mike) Ehler, Greenhills, Lorna, Blacklick, and Karla (Tom) Yenney, Troy; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was retired from the Mercer County District Library. She was a poll worker, Red Cross blood drive volunteer and a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Hopewell Twp., where she was a Sunday and vacation Bible school teacher and choir member. She also was a member of Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (WELCA), where she held various offices. She was a 1950 graduate of Celina High School.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Debra Domeier officiating. Burial is at Buck Cemetery, Hopewell Twp.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, and after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Contributions can be made to the church memorial fund, Alzheimer Association and State of the Heart Home Health & Hospice.

Beulah Pierstorff, 88, 9155 Burville Rd., Rockford, died at 8:00 p.m. April 13, 2006, at The Laurles of Shane Hill in Rockford.
She was born Nov. 4, 1917, in Liberty Township, to Jacob and Mary (Alt) Gehm. On Dec. 12, 1934, she married Victor Leroy Pierstorff, who is deceased.

Surviving are a son, Jim (Rose), Rockford; a daughter, Carol Pierstorff, Celina, three sisters-in-law, Loretta Gehm, Rockford, Helen Gehm, Rockford, and Ruth Pierstorff, Wapakoneta; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Deceased are three brothers, Bill, Earl and Roma; and five sisters, Bertha, Tillie, Pearl, Tuska and Norma.

She retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys, 30 years ago and was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, Hopewell Township.

Services are 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Debra Domeier officiating. Burial is at Mercer Memory Gardens.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, and one hour before services Tuesday.

Contributions can be made to the church.

Juanita M. Hoverman, 83, Celina, died March 30, 2006, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.

She was born Aug. 8, 1922, in Celina, to C. Earl and E. Marie Bowers Fisher. On Dec. 20, 1941, she married William Hoverman, who died Nov. 8, 1981.

Deceased are a brother, Donald Fisher, and a sister, Thelma Luth.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, St. Marys.
Her cremated remains will be laid to rest at the convenience of her family in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.

Arrangements are by Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina.

Doris Ann Stover, 70, Rockford, died at 9:25 pm. March 18, 2006, at her home, following a brief illness.

She was born Jan. 24, 1936, in Mercer County, to William and Hilda Frahm Becher. On Aug. 13, 1952, she married Robert W. Stover, who survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Brian (Brenda), Rod (Kelly) and R. Thomas (Penny), all of Rockford; two daughters, Cindy (Keith) Canary and Julia (Todd) Henkle, all of Rockford.

Deceased are two infant sons, Dennis Wayne and Ted Allen Stover.
She was a homemaker and member of the St. John Lutheran Hopewell Church, Celina. She was president of Women of Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (WELCA) and past-treasure of the Northwest Synod of WELCA, member of Democratic Central Committee of Mercer County, the Dublin Township Board of Elections and Shanes Crossing Historical Society of Rockford, a volunteer and past chair for the United Way for Mercer County.

Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Debra Domeier officiating. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.

JoeAnn Finegan, 79, formerly of Van Wert and Fort Wayne, Ind., died at 7:10 p.m. July 29, 2005, at the Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.

She was born April 8, 1926, in Latty, to Edward and Evah Proxmire Thurman.

Surviving are a daughter, Kathy Erickson, Cantonment, Fla.; and two grandsons.

Deceased are a son, Gregory Johnston; two brothers, Paul O. and Gordon G.; and three sisters, Agnes Croy, Venice Grubaugh and Katherine Miller.

A former EEG technician, she has worked in other medical fields in Fort Wayne, been a professional model and owned a modeling agency in Detroit. She attended Michigan State University in Ann Arbor and was affiliated with St. John's Lutheran Church, Hopewell Township, and the American Heart Association, Van Wert.

Funeral Service was at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, with Pastor Debra Domeier officiating. Burial followed at Blue Creek Cemetery in Paulding County.

Contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or Celina Visiting Nurses & Hospice.
