TRUSTEES REPORT

As you know the Boards took office as of July 1 and the Board of Trustees has been busy since that time. Lisa Stohs will be assistant director of the board and Julie Knudsen will be secretary. Rita Kraulis has already been busy helping clean some of the cabinets in the kitchen.

We have signed a five year lease with the Rogers Park Montessori School which we believe benefits both sides. Believe it or not, RPMS has been a tenant for 25 years so we have a lot of history and we're looking forward to moving ahead with them in the next five years.

Also, beginning October 1, Samuel Mosley will be living in the sexton's apartment in the basement. Mr. Mosley has been doing our maintenance work for several years and we're very happy to have him so close by. He's a hard worker and will be a great asset to us. We welcome him with open arms and know we will benefit greatly from his labor and expertise.

Our "Seal the Envelope" campaign continues and work will begin on more of the gutters and roof of the parish house in September.

If you look at the treasurer's report prepared by Bill Anderson, you will note that our rental income is down substantially from last year. This is due primarily to a decrease in gym rentals.

Our gym is a valuable asset and we need to make the best of it. In the past our income from renting the gym has been as high as $16,000-$18,000 a year. Joyce Brannon was the driving force in keeping our gym rented and worked very hard to get enough renters to keep our gym fully used. Bethany needs to have this income. We are looking for someone to take on the responsibility of making the most of this asset by running ads, mailing flyers, contacting neighborhood organizations, whatever can be done to bring more renters to our gym. We also need to update our records, set rates, prepare contracts. It will not be an easy job and will probably take several hours a month but if you have the time and are willing to help Bethany's financial outlook, please contact Lisa Stohs, or Barb Strauss to discuss the matter. Please prayerfully consider our request.

Bethany needs you.
