Later picture of Arneckeville store with gas pumps in front

The drug store was built prior to 1880. It was called the Dr C. A. H. Arnecke City Drug Store. This was on the main street of Arneckeville

This the old Charlie Arnecke's service station. It was locater where Walter Wolf's old white store is today. The old jail was located south of the service station

This is the old Oscar Egg Store and thier home to the right. It was located across the street from the Arneckeville store that burned down.

Old add found in Cuero newspaper. Lets all go Dancing in Arneckeville tonight

Arneckeville Dance Hall - Some great times were had by all. Herman Grunswald owned the hall for 3 years, and held dances every 2 weeks. The Snappy Four Band played often. Alfred Henneke operated a hamburger stand out side of the hall. During the dances the men would form a circle in the center of the dance hall while the girls were seated on the benches around the walls. With the band playing, the men would ask the girls to dance. If a guy danced with all of the girls, he was considered "very cool". Charles Koenig purchased the dance hall in 1928, tore it down and moved it to Cuero to build the Red Arrow Freight building on Broadway street. This building was torn down in Sept. 2007 to make way for the new Dewitt county jail.

This is older picture of the Arneckeville Dance hall before it was torn down.
