Weekend Update 11/10/03
Guess what I did this weekend ---- look at the pics below and then guess :-) Very domestic over the weekend. Remember the remnants I griped about being addicted to? Well, they found their way into projects! Sometimes it just falls into place - like the H'ween bags I made for the kids and the flannel remnant for Baby Chad's blanket.

I think I'm going to make potholders out of the Christmas remnant. I bought a fall potholder at one of the craft sales and all it really has are 4 squares sewn together, muslin backing and fiberfill in between! That should make cute Christmas goodies for the girls.

Until next time....

4 bags from Halloween remnant - Brendan, J, Kalie & Chad

Blanket for Baby Chad - flannel top from recently acquired remnant.

Christmas gift for Kay - top of bag is faux suede. Turned out nice but I think the handles should've been skinner. Kinda like me.

My new sock! Following the instructions of the label - Bernat Hot Sox yarn. I like the pattern so far. The back of the heel is cool looking - row 1(outside): k1, s1; row 2(inside):k1, p all but last, k1 ----cool ass design.
The 80's
I guess this is a good thing ~ I wasn't exactly a child of the 80's but I did have a lot of fun in that decade. I was in my 20's so listening to music while working at boring, menial jobs was a priority. I'm so bad at recalling things anyway - especially when it is one question after the other with no accompanying music.....here's how I scored:
Thanks Betseeee knits!

Want to inventory your needles? I put this together because of the sale at Hobby Lobby and wasn't sure what needles I owned/needed to add to my stash. This is an Excel file - just in case your computer pops up wanting to know what program to use. This way you can print it and hand inventory OR you can modify it on the computer and make it look real tidy. Have fun!

Note sure why I'm confused on the date ~ flashbacks? Don't I wish.

Why, oh why, am I always so tempted by the remnants in the bin at JoAnne's? Maybe the 86 cent tag - I know it can't be that I forget I have half the closet floor full of fabric. Check out what gets added to the stack! Thinking of making mittens for the guys from the camo fleece. Yummy soft.

Isn't this the cutest? Nikki loves Elmo and I used my 50% off JoAnne's coupon so it only cost me $3. I'm thinking of making her a bag with this on an outside pocket. The project will serve two purposes: 1) she'll have a bag to carry her daily things, and 2) it may lighten my fabric stash if I can find something interesting to use for the bag. Hopefully she'll like the bag.
I'm lost ~ trying to find myself through a website...SAD
Link list below but here are my results: The Original IQ Test Congratulations, Marlana! Your IQ score is 131 My question to them: 131 out of what? Am I an idiot or an idiot savant?

Ahem! As for my personality: Marlana, you're a Politician! Your personality is actually determined by two personality sub-types - your primary, or dominant sub-type, and your secondary sub-type. You are a Politician which means you are a Success / Golden Your primary sub-type is defined by "Success" characteristics and your secondary sub-type is defined by "Golden" characteristics. That means you're forceful, innovative, and popular with the masses. Chances are you aggressively pursue your goals, and you enjoy impressing people. You've always been surrounded by friends and loved ones and have a natural sense of showmanship. How do we know all this? How do we know that you're perfect for any work that requires personal interaction? How could we have divined that you would never say anything that offends anyone - at least to their face? Because while you were taking the test, you answered four different types of questions - questions that measured confidence, apprehension, willingness to take risks, and your focus on experience versus appearance - the primary traits that determine your personality. Based on your responses, we determined your personality type, Politician. And that's just scratching the surface.

Inkblot Test Results:
Marlana, your subconscious mind is driven most by Curiosity You are full of questions about life, people, and your own potential. You spend more time than others imagining the possibilities for your life - and you're open to things others are too afraid to consider. You have an almost physical need to know and do more. It's only through new experiences that you feel a greater understanding of yourself and the world. You also have a rebellious streak that shows up when you feel unable to truly influence the world or circumstances around you. Your appetite for novel experiences also shows an openness others don't have, but wish they did. Your psyche is very rich; the more you learn about it, the more you will understand who you really are.
Who are you and why are you staring at me?

Finished socks - my first pair. *~BEAM~* Yes, they are the same size ~ I guess the pic wants to be silly. They fit well and I look forward to testing them out. Yes, I did end up taking apart the toe of finished sock #1 so that I could make it a tad bit longer. Fits much better.

Why haven't I finished this? - what a huge UFO. I need to add the fringe since it is not going to stay uncurled - plus I have to do all the decorative stitches on the seams. Yeehaw. It'll be nice to free up some of the space at the corner of my office. I want to knock out UFO's but this is a definite now thing since the holidays loom so near. Second pic shows the details of the popcorn pattern - unfortunately the green trees don't show. When I finish this I will take a picture on the swing outside and maybe it'll show up then.

I had this together last year - thinking maybe I didn't get finished with the panels until near December and knew it'd be too much to ask of myself to finish. Yeah, just slide it into a bag and stick it in the corner of the office. Actually, I've been arguing with the family cuz they hate the braided fringe idea. Get over it - learn to make your own and then you can design. The other stopper to finishing was locating the rest of the yarn - I refused to buy more when I know I'll never find another use for that ugly gold color. Yeah, it sits for a year becuz I'm so stubborn. Looks like I'll be buying more anyway since I'll be adding the fringe.
