Ok, so everything is funny today. I guess the fact that I'm running on less than 5 hours sleep has nothing to do with it.
I love reading others blogs, for several reasons, but the funny shit they find out on the www cracks me up....you gotta check out all the different kitties on the My Cat Hates You link.

One of the multiple choise questions that I had to choose from: What do you do most in a day?
I had to really sit and think about this one cuz there were 2 great answers:
Devise new ways to avoid human contact for another week (yep, my choice) OR this one (I think I'll let my sister keep for her decision): Sit next to an open window and moo embarassingly loud at passers-by. Yeah, I can so picture her.
Besides, she needs a big smack on her noggin' - she calls me on the phone when I'm in the library yesterday (yeah, having to be quiet or get kicked out) and she's telling me that the pic of my sock looks like it should be done since that is the size of my elf feet. How do you whisper "you bitch, you bitch" and still get the same effect?
Until next time.... |

10/25/03 Saturday Sock |
|
Check it out ~ making my first sock. Bernat Hot Sox yarn - using size 4 needles althought I'm handicapped since I only have 3 of the dpn's so having to using a straight needle for a replacement. Still going well even with the handicap. I'm using a free sock pattern from the web and it is for a child's size since I have "elf feet" according to my sister. Making these so I can finally have a pair of socks that doesn't have an extra inch flapping over the back of my shoes. Plus, can't stand bare feet in the leather slides. These are working up quick and should be comfy. Color: Army Hot, Contents: Acrylic/Nylon ----shouldn't be itchy for my first pair. Proud of me?

Shameless plug for a nice product ~ I've always wanted to purchase pretty stitch markers cuz I only have the plastic rings. Here is an example of what I received in the mail the other day ~ Renee offers quite a few colors but I chose my favorite color since I like it and figured it would stand out on any color yarn I'd be working with. You can contact Renee at the link provided below her logo picture. Great prices! | Limited Editions by Renee |

He was over last night with his "goldfish and drinkable yogurt" and I guess in a good mood cuz I asked him if he'd pose so I could post pics of him and his 'ghan.....I think he did a studly job of posing :-)

10/23/03 Thursday |
Ok ~ so I knocked out all the pieces to the Halloween 'ghan yesterday. The girls at school oohed and aahed when I was working on the last corner. Then the librarians each had to come interrupt the video I was watching in order to find out what I was making and to tell me how smart I am. Yeah, smart is not exactly the word I use to describe myself. When I finally arrived home about 7, I visited with hubby while he cleaned up the porch from installing gutter. We chatted a while then jumped in the shower. By the time I got settled to put the 'ghan together, yawn city. I had all but one side together when I stopped to look it over and try to force a 2nd wind into my sails......yikes, I got my ghosts on backwards - yep, there on the left side. So I think to myself, easy enough since there is only a stitch on each square cuz I haven't zipped up that side. I snip and flip only to realize the pattern definitely looks like "wrong side stitching" to my trained eye. Ok, tired and will look at it again tomorrow. That means today so I know what is on my plate for this evening. Sometimes it works out just fine the next day. We'll see. This morning I started another facecloth. It is a lacy, cable design and I'm only on the 5th row....so not sure yet. This chenille yarn may hide a lot of fancy stitch work so we'll see. I do love the portability of a single skein and can't wait until I'm packing around a sock. Being able to yank out a tiny project while sitting in the hall waiting for class to start....just can't be beat. The other day we had a speaker and I knit throughout his boring talk. They can kill me but they can't eat me. If I finish the Halloween 'ghan I'll post a pic. I also need to get with the program on the stitch markers and post a pic. What else? Fall back on Sunday! When hubby and I were talking last night he said he's gonna order a cord of wood. Yeehaw! I love fall and winter. Since I was a fatgirl last winter, I never got cold. I wonder what dropping 22 pounds is going to do to that scenario this winter? Bring it on, I'll knit me some blubber. Oh yeah - they're making some progress on bringing in the road next to my house. Hubby and I traipsed through the brush last night to check out the road and its proximity to the house. Not too bad but I really am pretty nervous about what they're going to do with the adjacent property to our lot. I guess if it is bad enough we'll just move. I may be nervous but I ain't scared to move on down the road. It is great to see progress in the idea of the street but it hurts my feelings to think of all the trees and wildlife that get uprooted. Yeah, like I'm the sensitive sort or something. Until next time...
