Hello, Joylyn,

I wish I knew how to get names also. I asked our two spiritual growth pastors if they would check with the area pastors and get names of potential names from them.

You might try that, if you haven't already.

Blessings,
Sandy Thalberg

Hello Jolynn,

It looks like your circuit is very computer savy -- what a lovely idea to put together a website! I enjoyed browsing through the site for quite some time just now. You asked for imput: One thing you may want to consider -- put together a team of 2-3 proofreaders to catch/correct typos before posting sections of the website -- one thing our Heartland Circuit board tries do do with the minutes for each meeting/rally -- we each try to proofread the minutes and get them back to the secretary before they go out to the whole circuit or national.

Ref: Getting people to serve on the ballot for Spring -- we are currently searching for someone willing to serve as Spiritual Growth Woman -- The Vice President and 2nd Spiritual Growth Woman are contacting all the Reporters with a request for names -- we are hoping this will yield at least ONE name...I think sometimes people are afraid to serve on the Board because they may be overwhelmed with already very full plates...Our circuit tries to get a "slate" prepared before each Rally requiring elections -- and we are really hoping to have a name on the Spiritual Growth Woman line before April 22nd!

I'm glad Ohio circuit suggested you include LWMS in your message line -- I often delete messages if I am not certain of the source -- due to viruses passed by e-mail to my old computer!

Thank you for sharing your circuit with us -- and what a blessing your Website will be to your members and beyond!

Gods blessings on you as you serve Him in the Northwoods Circuit!

In Him,

Cheryl Grady, President
LWMS Heartland Circuit

Jolynn,
As for names on the ballot, our vice president, Karen Engdahl, wrote a lovely prayer for the ladies. It was to encourage them to put their names on the ballot. We put it in the folder at the fall rally. We also had a brief explanation of duties of each office. I do not know whether it has helped but is an idea. We have two from my congregation considering. Pray, pray, pray!

Hi, Jolynn, I'm new at the president gig myself...I chuckled when I
noticed
you forgot the website...That's why we are Presidents we are not
perfect and
all women can serve as president because of that.... I really liked the
Web
Site ...we are looking for ways to make our circuit more up to date
.(not
your Grandmothers LWMS) Last year when I was at our spring rally they
had no
women on the ballot !!! So when it came to vote for pres I heard my
name
called from the floor...Imagine my surprise I was just coming off from
SGW
... I told myself this was not going to happen on my watch we were
going to
call pastors and ask them for women of leadership qualities from there
churches and so far it has helped . I also went to a Women's retreat in
our
circuit and ask(before hand) to put up a LWMS display and had them
announce
to the women to check it out.... Free things and all...I also was able
to
meet with some young(30 ish) women of faith who I talked to about
serving on
the board... we need to get them involved and seek them out ...Their
not in
Ladies Aid... But their out there!!!! So happy you sent the website
and
keep in contact...God bless, United to Serve Christ , Chris Zuleger

If you get a response to your question on the nominations for the ballot would you share please? We have been without a secretary for almost 2 years when the one person we got to run and elected moved away. I had to twist a lot of arms to get someone to fill in a one year term for a spiritual growth person! The web site looks great and I'd love to try it for the Alpha circuit
