History of Trinity |
Trinity officially began on Dec. 1, 1935 with the merger of twosmall congregatons: Trinity of Deerfield Twp., and St. Paul Lutheran of Richland Twp. With God's guidance and the leadership of Rev.HCW Bohnhoff, it was decided that the Deerfield church building be moved to Medford and enlarged for the newly formed Trinity congregation. So a few farmers with 1935 technology moved the building toward Medford, some 6 miles but discovered that the narrow bridge crossing the Straight River into Medford would not accommodate them. So a new bridge was built from homemade timbers and planking that enabled the completion of the task in moving the church to its resting location. In 1950, the voters agreed to sell the church building and build a new larger facility. This is basically our present building dedicated in 1952. Then in 1975, the congregation added on an eduational wing containing 11 classrooms which presently house our Sunday School. Then in 2004, the congregation added on a larger narthex and entry to the 1952 structure which now includes a full size elevator, additional restrooms, and a family room. Pastors serving a full-time ministry at Trinity include: Rev. WC Lohrhe, Rev. Rudolf Schulz, Rev. Walter Haag, Rev. Paul Panning, Rev. Arnold Walta, Rev. Raymond Harms, Rev. Randolph Sherren, Rev. Joel Steging, Rev. Wayne Krohe, and our present pastor: The Rev. Dean Rudloff. | |
