Volunteers are needed to help with various tasks like wood splitting, general cleaning and helping to build a storage shed. Even the smallest hands can help, so bring the entire family! Lunch will be provided. Work only a few hours or stay the whole time - it doesn't matter, we just hope you'll attend & lend a hand! This summer the camp served over 2,500 young people.

Please Volunteer at and join us for the fun and excitement at the CESA #3 Champion Games! Funds from Thrivent will help to cover some of the lunch and snack expenses. Volunteers help with the various games. The CESA #3 Champion Games event is a unique opportunity for special education and disabled students along with non-special education peers, education professionals, and community members collaborating together to provide an interactive learning experience for children. The children participate in an opening ceremony, running events, wheelchair races, relays, and a wide variety of field events (obstacle course, target toss, bowling, long and high jump, etc.)
Last year over 850 students from 24 school districts participated, and numerous volunteers from area civic groups assisted in making the event a success!

Financial Consultant Joe Watson will lead a short session about the economy and the current state of
the financial markets. He will also provide a brief overview of the changes to the fraternal programs. In
2010, Thrivent will eliminate two of its giving programs, Care and Congregations and GivingPlus. The
programs will be replaced with a new offering, Thrivent Choice, which allows members to direct funds
to organizations of their choice. The Thrivent Builds program will also undergo some changes.
Door prizes for those in attendance: Wii gaming console, Tom Tom GPS navigation system and a 12.2
Megapixel Digital Camera.

| 3-on-3 Youth Basketball Tournament, Lancaster, WI | | Saturday, July 11, 2009 starting at 8:00a. | | Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Grant County, WI Chapter is holding a 3 on 3 basketball tournament for Youth boys and girls in age brackets 9-11; 12-14; and 15-18, on Saturday, July 11th, at the Lancaster High School gym. The tournament is being held for Youth who love the game of basketball and like off season playing time. Teams may register up to 5 players, playing 3 at a time. Registration fee is $30. Registration is limited to 48 teams, 24 for boys, and 24 for girls. Boys will play 8 AM – noon; girls will play noon – 4 PM. Participants will compete for 1st and 2nd place medals in each bracket, and receive a tournament t-shirt. Food concessions will be offered. Liability waivers are required for all players below age 18, and will be emailed to registered teams. Thrivent members of Grant County are invited to a baseball game between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Cincinnati Reds at Miller Park on Saturday, May 30th. Cost of the trip is $25 which includes chartered bus fare to and from Miller Park from Platteville and a Loge area ticket (Sections 201, 203-205, 237). Meals are not included. Ticket orders must be received by Saturday, May 9th, 2009.
Please take advantage of this excellent deal by joining us for this event. Similar chartered Brewers trips cost much more! You can show your support for Thrivent Builds while you enjoy a great game and some good old-fashioned Lutheran fellowship.
