| Christmas Eve Worship led by our Sunday School Children | | Every year on Dec. 24. | | Special music will be provided by our Adult Choir and others beginning at about 6:40 pm on Christmas Eve. Sunday School children are asked to arrive in the church basement between 6:15 and 6:30 pm.
Our church will be full of family and guests, and an overflow area will be set up in the church basement with a television broadcasting the service as it happens.

| Missionary Megan Kincaid speaking at Bible Study and in Worship | | Sunday, July 3, 2011 from 9:00a until 11:00a. | | Megan Kincaid has been serving as a GEO missionary with LCMS World Mission in Hong Kong and throughout Asia since September 2009. As the communication specialist for the Asia region, Megan finds ways to effectively communicate about what God is doing through missionaries and mission projects. Her rold includes tasks such as meeting with missionaries, partner church bodies, and believers to gather information and record their stories, so it can be shared with churches and individuals in the United States and throughout Asia using written and digital media.
Megan is from Kearney, Nebraska, where her home congregation is Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She graduated in May 2009 from Concordia University Nebraska, Seward, Nebraska, with a Bachelor of Science in business administration and a Bachelor of Arts in journalism/public relations and interpersonal communication. Megan will start working on her Masters of Social Sciences in development studies at City University, Hong Kong in August 2011. |

We will have worship services every Wednesday in Lent, beginning on March 9th, and going through April 13th. The evening's activities begin with a Lenten supper served in the school social hall from 5:45-6:30 pm. Various groups will serve the meals. We will also have a hymn sing prior to worship in the church, beginning at 6:45 pm. Worship begins at 7:00 pm. Following worship, you are invited to stay for a time of fellowship and coffee and bars in the church basement. Church families in the last half of the alphabet, beginning with Lois Kapels, will be asked to bring bars for the coffee hour. Our high school juniors and seniors will be serving Sloppy Joes, Potato Chips, and Salads. A free will offering will be taken with proceeds to help pay for their mission trip to New Orleans in June and to Minnesota in July. |

| Questioning of our Confirmands | | Sunday, April 2, 2006 starting at 7:00p. | | Our four confirmands will be asked questions by Pastor Birtell pertaining to Luther's Small Catechism. As they profess their faith and share what they have learned in Confirmation classes these past 3 years, this allows us an opportunity to refresh our knowledge of the Catechism and our faith as well. A coffee and cake reception will follow in the church basement. Our four confirmands are Britney Birtell, Kendra Brown, Bobbi Hoefelman, and Otis Seiler. May God bless our Confirmands. |

| Fellowship Club meets in the church basement, hosted by Carol Rosendahl | | Tuesday, March 28, 2006 starting at 7:30p. | | Fellowship Club is a group of men and women, married or single, from St. John's, who have been meeting for many years, who enjoy Bible Study, fun activities, and lunch, at their meetings which are held every month, and sometimes every other month. The big event they sponsor is the Fun Fair, which is held in June. This is a carnival-type atmosphere, with many games for all ages, as well as bingo, and a lunch stand. All proceeds from the Fun Fair go to the Scholarship Fund for St. John's high school students who will attend college to enter full-time church work. Fellowship Club is looking for more folks to join them for their meetings and also to help with the Fun Fair. Free will offering taken, with all proceeds going to the Orphan Grain Train. Staff and volunteers from the Orphan Grain Train come here and cook the meal, our members provide salads and desserts.
