Though St. Paul is not new to Crandon, their church on Park Avenue is. The congregation built this house of worship with the desire to grow - grow in faith & grow in numbers. We rejoice in the fact that we have the best tools for growth: God's Word as it is preached through the Gospel of Jesus Christ and given to us through God's blessed Sacraments of Holy Baptism and the Lord's Supper.

Since the lack of transportation in the late 1800s made Crandon rather remote, it was considered to be a mission congregation. Soon it became the hub of many other mission churces in the North Woods of Wisconsin.
This present house of worship has served the community in many ways over the years: School, Catholic Church, and now the Lutheran Church. How wonderful it is, that now it is a continuation of the Reformation, where God's Word continues to be taught and preached in its truth and purity!

Though it was often served by Crandon's pastor, the Hiles church started a little later than St. Paul, and at one time it separated from St. Paul and became part of the Community Church in Hiles.
