We had wonderful weather for our 2007 walks and we're still ON THE MOVE to end Alzheimer's! Our sincere thanks to everyone for their participation and support. Your contributions help us continue to offer valuable programs and services to people in our Chapter's nine county area.

2 miles and a Golden Mile (shorter route)
12:30 p.m. - Registration

Twelve local Thrivent members traveled to Matamoros, Mexico in February on a mission trip sponsored through Adventures in Missions based in Florida. Supplemental funds were provided from Iowa County Chapter of Thrivent Financial to help with their ministry and supplies during their week long stay. Says Cathy Bramlett, "We allowed God to lead us to people and places. |

Vincent Forseth Benefit |
|
A Spaghetti Supper and Silent Auction was held to benefit the family of Vincent Forseth, son of Terry and Dawn DeVoss Forseth. In celebration of Vincent's 7th birthday the benefit was held on March 23rd. The fast moving,long line for spaghetti and goodies was wonderful to see and the silent auction items wrapped around the Dodger Bowl. We were all joyful to be able to celebrate the sucessful heart transplant Vince had undergone only a week before. Supplemental funds were approved by both Iowa County and West Dane County Chapters. Nearly $20,000.00 was raised to help the family with medical expenses. |

Join Hands Day Highway Cleanup |
|
The Grace Lutheran Church Youth Group along with adult leaders Cathy Bramlett and Orville Olson cleaned up the two mile long stretch of State Highway 191 for one of the several Join Hands Day Events held throughout Iowa County. After all their hard work they were rewarded with Culvers treats. |

Alzheimers Association Memory Walk |
Memory Walk is the national signature event of the Alzheimer's Association, bringing together family, friends, caregivers and concerned community members - all wanting to make a difference. Since 1989, Memory Walk has raised more than $200 million to help those battling Alzheimer's disease.Memory Walk takes place in more than 600 communities across the United States. This year, more than 200,000 participants and volunteers joined in the event. Dodgeville hosted the Iowa County memory Walk on September 17, 2006. The Iowa County Chapter of Thrivent proudly supported the 2006 Memory Walk with supplemental funds.
