Various Numbers of the Bible – Lesson # 11
What if every time someone said a phrase or a word and you would be able to connect something from the Bible to that Word or Phrase?
What an opportunity this would be for us to reach out to others with some account from the Bible.
What if someone used a mathematical number? Is there something from the Bible that we can connect to that number which we could use as an introduction to tell that person or group of people about Jesus, the Savior of the World? With this Bible study we will look at different Numbers as found in the Bible and how they are used.

CREATION TO THE DEATH OF NOAH

The Time line of the Days before – during - and immediately after the Flood.

Year 1056 – Birth of Noah – Genesis 5:28-29

Year 1536 after Creation – God Announces the forthcoming flood. Giving 120 years of a time of Grace. Genesis 6:3
Various commentaries believe that his is the announcement of 120 years of grace until the flood would come because if one looks at the ages of people as listed after the flood in Genesis 11:10-26 one will see that they lived longer than 120 years.

Year 1556 – Noah is 500 years old - Genesis 5:32

7 Days before the flood waters came God told Noah that the flood water would come in 7 Days - “Go into the Ark” – Genesis 7:1-4 Thus the 10th day of the Second Month.

1656 - The 17th day of the Second Month. – The year of the flood since Noah is 600 years old when the springs and floodgates opened. – Genesis 7:11

Year 1656 + 40 days – The Flood waters kept coming. Genesis 7:17

Genesis 7:20 - The waters kept coming until it reached a depth of 20 feet above the mountains.

Genesis 7:24 – The Waters flooded the earth for 150 days.
Does this mean from the day the waters began or after the level reached its peak?
40days + 150days = 190 days or does this mean 40 days + 110 days = 150 days total (Preferred) ?

Genesis 8:3 – “At the End of the 150 days the water had gone down.

Genesis 8:4 – “On the 17th Day of the 7th Month the ARK came to rest on the Mountains of Ararat.”

Genesis 8:5 – The waters continued to recede …. On the 1st day of the 10th Month the mountains became visible.

Genesis 8:6 – “After 40 days Noah opened the window he had made in the ARK.”

Genesis 8:7 – Noah sent out a Raven.

Genesis 8:8 – Noah sent out a Dove.

Genesis 8:9 – Noah brought the dove back into the ark.

Genesis 8:10 – Noah sent out the dove 7 days after he brought the dove back into the ark.

Genesis 8:11 – The dove returned in the evening with a fresh olive leaf.

Genesis 8:12 – Noah waited 7 more days and sent out the dove again, but it did not return this time.

Genesis 8:13 – Noah removed the cover from the ark and saw the ground was dry. It was the 1st day of the 1st month of Noah’s 601 years after his birth.

Genesis 8:14 – By the 27th day of the 2nd Month the earth was completely dry and the Lord said to Noah, “Come out of the ARK.”

So the total time from when Noah and his family entered the ARK, until the time that Noah and his family came out of the ARK was a total of ONE YEAR and SEVENTEEN DAYS.
