Greetings and welcome to the Our Shepherd Lutheran School website! On
behalf of the entire Our Shepherd community, we thank you for visiting our website and your continued support of our school.
My name is Mr. Jacob Rogers, and I am the new principal of Our Shepherd
Lutheran School. I am starting my 10th year in education, with 7 years in Lutheran education and 2 years in administration. I was born in Crown
Point, Indiana and grew up in Lafayette, Indiana at St. James Lutheran, which is where I got my musical start in choir and playing the trumpet. After
graduating from high school, I attended Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Music Education. After 3 years
in public education, I returned to St. James Lutheran to become the Director of Music for the school. It was there that I completed my Master’s in
Education in Curriculum and Instruction through the University of Phoenix, and completed the Colloquy program through Concordia University, Chicago. After
1 year of completing these programs, I returned to school to complete the School Administration and Principal licensure program from Indiana State
University. As I start my 10th year of education, and my 1st year of service at Our Shepherd, I am excited to be here, and am looking
forward to the future of Our Shepherd.
My wife, Annie (an R.N.), and I have been married for 10 years and have two
boys, David (3rd grade) and Andrew (Kindergarten). Currently, while I am residing in Painesville, my family is living in Evansville, Indiana,
which is in very southern Indiana. I’m looking forward to the time that we can be together as a family in the Painesville community. Please continue to
pray for our family during this time.
As far as my hobbies, I love to TRY to play golf, love to watch and root on
my favorite college sports team, the PURDUE Boilermakers (yup, that’s right), love to play my trumpet in community bands and jazz bands, and most
importantly, I love to spend time and be with my family.
I look forward to meeting all of the Our Shepherd community as we Glorify
